I love that the package for Hamels would have to be "ridiculous", but the package for the younger, better Sale was no sweat lulz. Betts, Swihart, Owens, & Marrero get you 5 minutes with Hahn maybe.

So you heard it here first, the only reason that Chris Sale isn't on the Red Sox right now is because RH, KW, & JR decided to try to compete even though they don't think they can.

The offseason is still young. Sale will probably be traded to Boston by spring training.

Bucket is a pretty good source of information so unless he comes on here and tells us that there was even the slightest negotiation with Boston over Sale, I'm not buying it.

It's a really good thing the Sox signed Zach Duke, Adam LaRoche, David Robertson, and Melky Cabrera and traded for Jeff Samardzija and Dan Jennings or Chris Sale would be a Red Sox.

I hope the base of this deal included 2000 Pedro or Nomar, or maybe 2007 Ortiz or Beckett.
