Penny has a better chance of moving to a long relief role after the start, so it doesn't make much sense going with Johnson, especially after his season last year. He needs to go to Charlotte and earn his way back. The only real option besides Penny is a bullpen day--2 innings for Albers, Guerra, Webb, and Jennings, or hope for rain. I know he was throwing from his knees and tossing around a medicine ball, but that is still not the same.
March 23, 201511 yr Watched his bullpen session on Friday and he was really throwing well, didn't seem to have any limp at all. The only thing I saw was he shook his foot out after one pitch. Was cussing a lot when missing spots but man that FB had some real life on it.
