Seems like a decent return IMO. They got two young major leaguers with multiple years of team control. They could have gambled on a package of prospects and gone for more upside, but obviously the Brewers wanted a bit more certainty.

Good trade for the Brewers. They really need pitching and Wheeler was pretty damn good before he tore his UCL.

Was listening to the radio feed and even the announcers thought the deal was done when he came to the plate.

There were tons of reports saying the deal was done for Gomez. Wheeler and Flores were involved in the deal. Reports got to Flores mid game and he took it hard. Young kid, don't fault him. Mets/Alderson screwed with the kid. Good job Mets.

Even a group of Brewers, with Gomez, took a selfie saying "saying goodbye to a good friend."

Man, didn't realize there was such a virulent anti-Mets strain out there.

The reports I heard this morning were that it was actually the Mets who rejected the trade due to concerns over Gomez hip. That was at least what I heard on the ESPN radio update on my drive in this AM.
