I like the improvement TT has shown this year but really, his stat line suggests he's still got a lot of work to do to become a solid player. He's still on a 100K/500 AB rate at Charlotte this year and his walk rate has dropped noticeably compared to his previous several seasons. That K rate is an improvement from where he was the last couple years and that's important, but if we're adding rips like that into Avi's name, we should at least be honest about what TT is likely to do, which is to struggle making contact.

But provide plus defense.

I will add that I would like to see Soto play today instead of Flowers. Especially if Flowers will be catching tomorrow when Sale pitches. Tyler Flowers had a terrific July 217/229/290 518 OPS. 0 BB 26 K in 70 PA. Soto in July had only 27 PA. 316/519/875 1413 OPS. 8 BB to 5 K. Clearly Tyler Flowers deserves more chances than Soto.
