Heyman also hearing the Pirates didn't win

If the Pirates are actually out, then the Astros or Sox are the favorites IMO.

Astros have AJ Reed ready to go

Rockies are serious players for Park, per The Purple Row this morning.

Would be stunning if we won. I'm not expecting it at all.

@Buster_ESPN: This is not a confirmation, but some rival evaluators believe that Oakland won the bidding for Byung-ho Park. Again: Not confirmation.

Not sure how they can be serious players for him, it's not free agency. They either bid or they didn't.

So it's NOT Pittsburgh or Oakland? Ok then.

I'd seriously be stunned if we made this move...

It would be hard to understand, unless the guy can play another position.

I'll never understand why the Rockies don't get guys like this.

Even mediocre guys put up good numbers at Coors, so why don't they try to stack their lineup consistently like the Jays did this year? It literally makes no sense to me.

Im not sure I would be. Seems like a total White Sox move. Take a chance on a guy that may produce for less money than top free agents. The LaRoche contract makes it a little murky, but as I said earlier, the Sox had 3 1B/DH 2 seasons ago, so it's not like it's out of the realm of possibility.

I think if we get this guy or an outfielder, they have every intention of ridding themselves of LaRoche.

Phillies, Brewers, Reds, Cubs, White Sox, Twins, and Astros.

Is this the current list?

I think so, but I'm 99% sure that the Cubs, Brewers, Phillies, and Reds aren't interested in him.

That leaves us with:

White Sox, Twins, Astros

Yup. Reds and Cubs dont need a 1B, so neither of those make sense. Phillies and Brewers are in full rebuilds. So I have this down to a 3 team race.

I would rule the Cubs out due to Rizzo/Bryant and the Reds due to Votto/Frazier, but I wouldn't say the same about the Reds or Phillies.

Also, the Twins have Mauer and Sano, so I don't think they'd be interested.

The Phillies and Brewers are "rebuilding", so I doubt that they'd be interested in this guy.

That being said, the Sox probably should be rebuilding too but we all know that they won't.

If the Astros get this guy, maybe the Sox could pry Jonathan Singleton away from them.

He seems like a good change of scenary candidate.

Certainly would be interesting considering there's a 30 day negotiating window and we'd have 30 days to deal with LaDunn

I haven't watched any of his footage or read his scouting report because I didn't think we'd actually be one of the few teams not ruled out of winning the bidding. Better go do that now.

Until the Rockies are ruled out, I'm going to assume it's them. It makes the most sense.

He's got a nice bat flip....watching hot stove on MLBN and they showed a couple highlights
