Probably the same thing as all the tweets. He pretty much sticks to the script.

Yep. I made a thread for it.

1 - trade Micah Johnson instead.

2- awful;

3- very solid

4- ugh

Wait ! Weren't you against trading Micah for Brett Lawrie in the Lawrie thread when I posted it ?

With the signing of Grienke to ARI, I love my prediction now. LAD need to come up with a good starter. Have 3 draft picks and would lose one signing a Leake, Cueto, Shark.

They don't lose a pick for Cueto or Leake.

Oh they were traded my bad forgot that.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 10:12 PM)
Trades for Lawrie

White Sox get: Brett Lawrie

As get: Erik Johnson and Thaddius Lowry

Trades for CarGo and DJ LeMahieu

White Sox get: CarGo and LeMahieu

Rockies get: Frankie Montas, Adam LaRoche, Carlos Sanchez and Avi Garcia

Bold trade prediction

White Sox trade Jose Quintana to the Dodgers

White Sox get: Joc Pederson, Jose DeLeon and Austin Barnes

Dodgers get: Jose Quintana

Then after Hahn makes a flurry of trades, signs two pitchers:

Doug Fister 1 year $9 million

Trevor Cahill 1 year $4.5 million plus incentives (Coop'll fix him)

Ok let's see how bad I get crucified :)

I like most of what you predict, but I would change to the following (with an associated crucifixion as well):

Lawrie for Chris Beck and Jacob May

CarGo only for LaRoche, Montas and Garcia

Sale (not Q) to the Dodgers for Seager, Puig and Barnes

Sign Pfister

These moves, if at all possible, would really improve our offense from last year, allow us to replace bad OF defense, and have us hope that a combination of Pfister, Eric Johnson and Jacob Turner could replace the 24 wins of Sale and Samardzija.

Will the White Sox be content with filling their holes with stop-gap type players or will they attempt to shake things up with some significant trade?

The White Sox rumor mill has been radio silence - the news of Flowers becoming a free agent was seen as a surprise, and Hahn's public comments were what made news of a 2nd catcher addition being close.

There was a rumor about Nova, Lawrie, maybe Frazier, some drum beat around Quintana, but this has all just been speculation, not confirmed talks between teams.

No idea if the White Sox will be patient (which isn't their usual style) and see which free agent bargains exist after the heavy spending or if they jump in to a free agent aquistion that hasn't been talked about or trade.

I just hope that the White Sox pick a lane. Will there be a difference maker added to this lineup? This lineup needs legitimate hitters 3-6 and there are only 2 on the roster (Abreu and maybe Melky). They need another all-star in that lineup.

Do GMs arrive in Nashville tonight? If so, we could have some late night activity.

Yes they do. MLB Network will have a live special in about 20 minutes from Nashville.

Also, I wonder if Sox and Cubs would agree upon a Q & Robertson deal for Wilson Contreras, Jorge Soler, Javier Baez and filler.

Gammons just said Michael Brantley's shoulder surgery was more complicated than they thought and he will probably be out until August.

That's good news for the Sox and terrible news for Cleveland.

He's a talented player, it just seems as if he's never healthy.

I think Sox would turn that down. They'd need Schwarber for Quintana.

Hypothetically, if Schwarber did come to the Sox in a deal, where exactly would he play? DH I'm assuming?

Wow. Brantley is going to end up like Sizemore

How about this:

Pirates receive: Jose Quintana (They get the cost controlled, young and locked up pitcher to pair with Gerrit Cole)

White Sox receive: Mitch Keller, Trey Supak, Austin Meadows and Cole Tucker.

I'll go for it...

Sox trade: Erik Johnson, Micah Johnson, Frankie Montas and Avi Garcia to Oak

Sox receive: Brett Lawrie, Josh Reddick & C Jacob Nottingham

Sox trade: David Robertson to ChiCubs

Sox receive: Starlin Castro & P Pierce Johnson

Sox sign Mat Latos to 1yr/9mil contract with 12m option for 2017

Sox sign Joakim Soria to 2 yr/18M contract w/ 10M option for 2017

Lawrie and Latos would probably make the Sox have the worst clubhouse in baseball

Bob Nightengale predicted the Sox sign Upton.

I like the idea of signing Heyward to an 8 year deal with an opt out after year 4, as he'd clearly test the market again at that point. The Sox would only be on the hook for his age 26-30 seasons, which would most likely be the prime of his career.

Can't go wrong there IMO.

I'd love Upton. Always been a fan of him.

Yes, his defense elsewhere is terrible. He is, however, a stellar defensive DH

Heyward is obviously going to be more expensive than Upton, but he is just such a better fit for this team. Upton is a solid player but he's at best mediocre in the field and Ks a ton. I just don't think he fits all that well on this team. Heyward on the other hand...

But signing Upton would signal that the Sox plan to contend, and I like that.

When it comes to the Sox, he's basically always right.

Sox are signing Justin Upton, guys.
