2016 MLB catch all thread

The only time he ever really hits is when he's fat throughout his career. Anytime the Giants asked to lose weight, he'd come in to camp slimmed down and not hit and then get progressively fatter as the season went by. If he's released and only cost close to half a million, I'd take him

#Phillies’ Stump tested positive for dehydrochlormethyltestosterone, according to MLB.

Soooooo, the Red Sox might release Pablo Sandoval if they can't find a trade partner

Wow, that is mind blowing. I mean everyone knew the contract was going to be bad, but washing out basically a year? Damn.

By the way, #Braves released Bourn on Tuesday. Had to, after DFAing him at end of spring training and not finding trade interest.

Harper 100 career homers. He'll be 23.5 on Saturday.

The Braves are going to lose 110, minimum.

Velasquez with a complete game shutout against the Padres. 16 Ks.

Just finished watching the highlights. Man, was he filthy today. The Phillies have really nice young arms in their rotation.

Astros fans HATE the two big trades they've made over the last 8 months (Gomez and Giles)

The Red Sox are leading the league in Just because you can spend money, doesn't mean you should.

Rusney Castillo, owed $56MM+ through 2020, was optioned to AAA by #RedSox. Read more: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/04/red-...y-castillo.html

How much does Rusney Castillo get if not for Jose Abreu?

I don't blame them one bit and would hate those trades as well if I were an Astros fan. I'm not sure which trade the Astros got hosed on more. The Astros gave up two really good hitting prospects in the Gomez trade but gave up some really nice young pitching in the Giles trade. Tough call.

I think the Nationals clinched their division last night.

10 games in. #mets

Every time the discussion of allowing steroid users into the HOF comes up, people argue that there's already known cheaters (Gaylord Perry) and bad guys (Ty Cobb) in the Hall. I heard an interesting interview on the Score (Rozner & Ostrowski - I think) with the author of a book that refutes almost everything we think we know about Ty Cobb. Link to the author's website http://www.charlesleerhsen.com.

Interesting interview with Rafael Palmiero

Good stuff. I've always wondered why he isn't brought up as much as the rest of the steroid guys. Based on his pure numbers, he'd have to be a first ballot guy. Pretty well rounded career.

Looking at the photos - man, I loved Will Clark.

I just realized that if Adrian Beltre continues to hit like he has the past few years for 2 more years, he's gonna get to 3000 hits and about 80 WAR. Those are hall of fame caliber numbers.

Sources: MLB, union agree to extend Olivera’s paid administrative leave by two weeks. Domestic-violence policy allows for such an extension.

His defense puts him in there now.

I agree but I'm not sure the voters do. I feel like he needs to get 3000 hits to get in.
