June 16, 20169 yr QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 15, 2016 -> 05:59 PM) Nationals rally to tie it...Ramos for a struggling veteran closer, one of the two dumbest trades in Twins' history, along with JJ Hardy to Balt for nothing of significance. And of course Almora is 6 for his first 16 with three doubles. Figures. Wow, Matt Capps huh? Totally forgot they traded Ramos for him.
June 17, 20169 yr QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 16, 2016 -> 11:46 AM) Cubs are calling up top C prospect Willson Contreras. Just never ends for them. That lineup with Ross just looks so stupid. Make him a coach or something.
June 17, 20169 yr QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jun 17, 2016 -> 12:20 PM) That lineup with Ross just looks so stupid. Make him a coach or something. Too many cooks in the kitchen when it comes to devising road trip dress-up themes will quickly lead to internal strife.
June 18, 20169 yr QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jun 17, 2016 -> 01:20 PM) That lineup with Ross just looks so stupid. Make him a coach or something. Yet he's got a .750 OPS this year, better than Avila or Navarro. Theo's magic pixie dust has no limits
June 18, 20169 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 18, 2016 -> 02:08 AM) Yet he's got a .750 OPS this year, better than Avila or Navarro. Theo's magic pixie dust has no limits Incredible defensively this year as well
June 18, 20169 yr The Cubs success makes the White Sox completely irrelevant in this city. The White Sox look like a complete joke compared to them. I never, ever thought I would be able to say something like that, but the state of this organization is a complete joke compared to theirs at this time. And the future looks very bleak for us as well.
June 18, 20169 yr If Almora reaches his ceiling the cubs could be looking at a right handed Mark Kotsay in center field. Willson Contreras could be something very special as well if he puts it all together. The Cubs plethora of young talent is something out of this world, by this time next year they could conceivably[rightfully] be sporting an all-star team across the diamond. I think they re-sign Fowler and move Schwarber/Soler/Vogelbach as they still have McKinney and Happ among many others.

I never, ever thought I would be able to say something like that, but the state of this organization is a complete joke compared to theirs at this time. And the future looks very bleak for us as well. It took a while, but we saw it coming. The White Sox have been a joke since 2007, with 2008 as the one exception. My concern is with the Sox ineptitude. I'm happy for my Cubs fan friends. They look to be boiling over with talent, and that's with Baez coming off the bench.
June 20, 20169 yr This baseball season sucks. Theo and Maddon against Hahn and Ventura is the mismatch of the century.
June 20, 20169 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 09:27 PM) This baseball season sucks. Theo and Maddon against Hahn and Ventura is the mismatch of the century. Get used to it.
June 20, 20169 yr So..., If Cleveland wins a championship (check), Cubs win the World Series, and Donald Trump wins the presidency, what will be the fourth horseman of the apocalypse?
June 20, 20169 yr QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 11:32 PM) So..., If Cleveland wins a championship (check), Cubs win the World Series, and Donald Trump wins the presidency, what will be the fourth horseman of the apocalypse? You may be on to something here.

June 20, 20169 yr Author QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 11:32 PM) So..., If Cleveland wins a championship (check), Cubs win the World Series, and Donald Trump wins the presidency, what will be the fourth horseman of the apocalypse? No need for a 4th one at that point, because God doesn't exist if all that happens.
June 20, 20169 yr Somehow Brexit isn't quite as compelling. Naval confrontation over South China Sea? How about meltdown of RMB? That already started to happen last July. Edited June 20, 20169 yr by caulfield12
June 22, 20169 yr Is Arrieta finally coming down to earth? Cubs look like they will get swept by the Cards. 7-0 in the 6th.
June 22, 20169 yr QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 03:27 PM) Is Arrieta finally coming down to earth? Cubs look like they will get swept by the Cards. 7-0 in the 6th. He gave up only 1 ER today.
June 22, 20169 yr QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 03:30 PM) He gave up only 1 ER today. Oh really. What is the deal then? Did he give up a lot of walks, bad defense or the bullpen? I havent looked at the line at all other than the score.
June 22, 20169 yr QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 03:34 PM) Oh really. What is the deal then? Did he give up a lot of walks, bad defense or the bullpen? I havent looked at the line at all other than the score. Pulled him after 5. Gave up 1 ER and 1 unearned. Was at 100 pitches. They're saving him for October. Cardinals scored the rest on the pen in the sixth. Edited June 22, 20169 yr by kev211
June 22, 20169 yr Arrieta has had a few Rich Harden-esque starts recently. Unhittable, only a run or two, but throwing so many pitches out of the zone that he can only last 5 or 6 innings.
June 22, 20169 yr I was following along earlier, he was in a jam but walked away without giving anything up when Matt Rat bailed him out with a nice catch on deep fly to center by Wong. It feels like seeing him in a jam is a lot more common recently- he just manages to get out of them.
June 23, 20169 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 04:22 PM) Arrieta definitely isn't as sharp right now. He's on pace to walk more batters than he ever has...by far. He has 35 BBs right now. The most he has walked was 59 in 2011 in 119 innings. He's still nasty af but walking guys will cut his starts short like yesterday.
