May 2, 20169 yr That was incredible. It was one of those moments that you tell you grandkids about 50 years from now. I have no doubt if Hawk was 30 when this happened, we'd be hearing about it today.
May 2, 20169 yr You know that hurt more than Trumbo showed. He really had to suck it up walking back to the dugout.

May 2, 20169 yr QUOTE (shysocks @ May 2, 2016 -> 08:42 AM) I feel like this isn't the first time Sale has done this. Somebody help me out? Torriiiiiiiiii Hunter was hit last year on a swing. I don't remember if it was strike 3 though. That kind of adds a lot to it. The limping back to the dugout in shame.
May 2, 20169 yr QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 2, 2016 -> 08:58 AM) It's his first time being 6-0. i believe he meant the strikeout while hitting a guy. And no, its not his first time. They were mentioning he did that against Torii Hunter
May 2, 20169 yr QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 2, 2016 -> 08:56 AM) Yes, hell yes is a lot better than oh my goodness. And if anything, Hawk seems to be a bit more critical of the Sox miscues this season. As I have stated many times, Hawk sometimes has a hard time letting go of the umpire criticism (although yesterday it was warranted) and still occasionally likes to blast Jerry Manuel. But he is still the king of the White Sox booth. Long live Hawk. I agree, I like the back and forth between JB and Hawk. JB gives us the future and he meshes well with Stone but Hawk, even through his spaz outs, still provides that emotion that will never be duplicated. He's a fan first, and when things are going good stuff like that radiates.

The limping back to the dugout in shame. He did it like 4 times last year IIRC. In that Cubs game where Sale struck out 15 it happened to Denorfia (4:32 in the Youtube video). Sandoval too. http://mediadownloads.mlb.com/mlbam/2015/0...25483_1800K.mp4 Edited May 2, 20169 yr by OmarComing25
May 2, 20169 yr Author This one was my favorite because how far it starts left to right, and how it hits him twice. This is definitely the "folklore" story I'll tell on Sale. Think about the thought process as a slider leaves his hand from "I can hit this" to "My KNEE"

Even his catcher is wrong by about 3 feet as to where he thinks it is going to go.
May 2, 20169 yr QUOTE (shysocks @ May 2, 2016 -> 07:42 AM) I feel like this isn't the first time Sale has done this. Somebody help me out? He hits people on the back foot when they swing fairly regularly, but this is the first one to my knowledge that basically ended up in the center of the batter's body.
May 2, 20169 yr QUOTE (hi8is @ May 2, 2016 -> 10:16 AM) My only question is: why wasn't that a strike? It was. He swung, and struck out on the pitch. He made the walk of shame back to the dugout.

May 3, 20169 yr That is great. And I'd like to just throw this out there that Sale is the first lefty since Randy Johnson in 2002 to complete April with a 6-0 record. Johnson went 24-5 in 2002 at the age of 38 and won the last of his 5 Cy Young Awards.
