  1. I think Getz' worst move was keeping this moron manger around. A quality manager who knows the game could help Getz in a number of ways.
  2. I'm not impressed with Getz' moves thusfar. But he hasn't done any long-term damage. And making this major league team worse this season isn't that big of a deal, because it was a 55-60 win team to begin with. Hahn, on the other hand, inherited a team that was in the race the whole way and won 85+ games and immediately turned it into a 65ish win outfit. He then made a series of moves that did major long-term damage.
  3. Well, ultimately it is. Hahn left this team in deplorable condition. On another matter, Pham knows that the Sox will move him to a contender in July if he hits decently.
  4. It is unfortunate that a player like Sosa doesn't come to the majors fundamentally sound. This gives the Sox brass cover to not give him a decent opportunity to show if he can hit. That said, it shouldn't matter THIS season, when 2/3 of the team can't hit .200. Sox history also suggests that even if he did come in fundamentally sound, they still wouldn't give his offense much rope. And that's been a problem for a long time.
  5. Why is he batting at all? Sheets has been raking this year
  6. Use AAA for finishing touches. Goofy league and a goofy team.
  7. I was unclear. I was talking about Vaughn. They’re just gonna have to cut Benintendi at some point, but he still has 3 1/2+ years left.
  8. I'm not up on the rules, but assuming he doesn't have to clear waivers, they should send him down and bring Colas up. it's ridiculous the way he's hitting.
  9. But would it cost that much more to hire a base or bench coach from a winning organization than hiring one from the effing Royals.
  10. No Ozzie. The "respect the game" stuff is what LaRussa was doing. Not a young players manager. Can't the Sox, for the first time 20 years, hire a manager like a normal team.
  11. Was Pedro actually bunting in that situation?
  12. Sure, if the owner has decided not to spend any money at all on free agents and the only way we can get good is to build entirely through the farm, we should trade LuBob. But if the young pitching continues to come around, and the owner is willing to spend the amounts that he was willing to spend when Hahn was in charge, we should keep Luis Robert and we should sign two or three quality free agents who are not relievers and try to win this thing in a couple of years.
  13. Garcia has had 4 straight scoreless outings. I just don't see us getting much for Fredde. Lynn had a history and was still striking people out at high rates; I can see the Dodgers thinking they could get him squared away. Hahn did arguably his best work in with the Angels. He finally did a deal on OUR terms, taking advantage of the Angels eagerness to take one last big swing in the last days of Ohtani. I'm not sure that Getz will be that tactical; but I didn't think Hahn could be either.
