  1. Past hour
  2. Pirates could really use a RH bat. Plop Robert between Cruz, Horowitz, O’Hearn, and Lowe and he’ll face his share of LHP’s.
  3. If those top guys are all 50 FV's, the White Sox are in a world of trouble. That would basically mean that Schultz and Smith are #4 starters.
  4. Common misconception. People think he's Irish because of the O apostrophe in his last name. Not true. He's actually one of the historically mediocre Hearns. So mediocre in fact that when people would meet them they would state "Oh, Hearn.", as if in disappointment. Eventually the family was was shortened into the contraction "O'Hearn". Hope this helps.
  5. He had a 115 wRC+ from August to October. That being said, I don’t use bWAR but assuming he must have had a lower value on his defense than Fangraphs. On the defense side, he did switch over to LF for the first time in his career and that might have caused some defensive fall-off. Ultimately to me he looks like a declining player but one with a little bit of juice left. Maybe $8M is a bit too high for what will likely be limited production, but seeing Lane Thomas get like $5.5M indicates it’s a weak OF market and guys will get a premium.
  6. Reinsdorf also got a preview of this with the Yuki Kawamura effect on Bulls posts
  7. Getz is gonna fleece some GM for a top 50 prospect. HE IS MORE MACHINE THAN MAN.
  8. In that case, I don’t have a ton of hope that Bleday will hit but he probably makes the most sense because he could move to CF once Robert is traded and Montgomery is ready to take over RF.
  9. I think he’s worth more to us a 10th man than what he’d return on the trade market.
  10. I mean he was 52nd percentile in sprint speed last year, was -.6 runs below avg on the bases according to fangraphs and on most hitting metrics is 60th percentile or higher the last three seasons. He's also 32 until late next July. It's not like he's 35 and ready to fall off an athletic cliff. The last thing the Sox need is a 32 year old FA 1B projected for 2 WAR -- but as a player O'Hearn has plenty of things going for him and the Pirates spending some money here is a good thing for their team and MLB in general.
  11. Kepler was in a platoon last year yet was still unplayable down the stretch for the Phillies. .1 bWAR is pretty rough
  12. So you prefer the rotating DH? What is Sosa actually worth on the trade market? Somewhere between peak Christopher Morel and the Morel of 2024-25?
  13. Today
  14. I expect Sosa to be on the move shortly since Murakami makes a bat only 1B type in Sosa moot.
  15. It looks like Getz would like to not start May in a 7-23 hole, again. In which case, I would imagine Kepler/Hays/Tauchman would work as a RF placeholder until B. Monty plays his way onto the parent club.
  16. Why do you think he’s toast? For Tauchman, my only fear is he got non-tendered over a $3.5M salary. Even with some injury risk, he’s worth that salary if he can provide even passable RF defense. Makes me worry his ability to play the OF may be compromised some by his recent health issues.
  17. Yesterday
  18. Could you get Ewing from the Mets with an eye more to 27-28?
  19. Bader is likely getting three years. I want nothing to do with a multi-year commitment to Bader.
  20. He’d probably be my #2 option and the better long-term play given his potential team control.
