How do they explain TEX LA being Yankees' fans? Mickey Mantle coming from Commerce, Oklahoma? Also, Missouri and KS have always been weird. Finally, Delaware hates the Yankees lol?

I am starting to wonder about Davis Martin, I just saw his picture on a milk carton.

Mike Vasil "The Wizard"
It worked with Bob Uecker. Uecker didn't play in any games in the 1964 WS but he still got a ring with the Cardinals.

Ratings on the Chicago Sports Network “more than doubled this season to an average of 60,400 viewers per game.” Going into the season, the White Sox had a “long list of traditional giveaways lined up, including bobbleheads, T-shirts and more.” Boyer said that the promotion to honor Pope Leo XIV was “executed and ramped up on the fly.” He added that the outlay for the $5 hats “ran $200,000, making it the most expensive promotional gamble of the season,” but it “paid off big for the team.” Boyer said that as the Sox advance in the playoffs, the team is “planning to promote a home fan apparel ‘blackout’ -- with everybody showing their colors to make Rate Field an ‘intimidating place’ for the visiting team” (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 9/30 sportsbudinessjournal Sports Business Journal https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com Sports Media Pod: Why White Sox TV ratings are up 252% Jul 17, 2026 — White Sox viewership doubled, why out-of-market audiences surged 252%, and how distribution, streaming, and team success combined... I couldn't take him any longer. I turned the sound down and just watched. Not only was he pro Cleveland but he was dank and dark, just depressing, taking the excitement away. ...............LFG!

Braden Montgomery's post game interview was a small glimpse into this young man's psyche....very thoughtful, intelligent non cliche responses. He has struggled at times but his high character kept him resolute. He is built for big moments like today. Never gets scared, very cool. He has some of that athletic arrogance needed to persevere thru tough times. Very good genes and upbringing from his parents. Dad was good running back at Iowa, mom is Iowa med school physician.

Love this. Have always felt some “cool movie baseball teams from 90s Hollywood” kinship with the mariners. Glad they reciprocate.

No, I don’t, which is the funny thing. I just had a feeling that the White Sox were going to get better while the rest of the division was declining. So it wasn’t a major amount of money I was risking, but I just had a feeling that it might not be the longshot that some people would’ve thought

Williams has great stuff, but 0 wins in 5 starts against our Sox this year. His last 3 in particular have been remarkably similar: August 8th: Guards up 2-0 to start the Sox half of the 6th. Mune solo HR, then Miggy reaches to chase Williams. Sox string together good ABs against the reliever and leave the frame up 5-2. September 14th: Scoreless tie to start the Sox half of the 6th. Beni single and generational AB from Peters to chase Williams. Sox string together good ABs against the reliever and leave the frame up 6-0. October 6th: Guards up 2-1 to start the Sox half of the 6th. Miggy reaches to chase Williams. Sox string together good ABs against the reliever and leave the frame up 4-2. Different LHP relievers each time (Herrin, Holderman, Sabrowski), same result of flipping the game. Meidroth with the favorable matchup came through with a key RBI hit from the 8th spot in all 3 games. Thinking back on yesterday's game...Sox had 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs after Sabrowski faced his minimum 3 batters in the 6th. Would Venable have called on Taylor to protect the 1 run lead in that spot? Pretty decent chance I think. Smith instead pitched the 9th with no lead to protect. Kinda interesting that Sox have seen the opposing closer in 4/4 games, but never when actually behind.

https://www.si.com/mlb/white-sox-guardians-2026-alds-cleveland-glaring-weakness-predictably-sinking-them Guardians ripped for not adding more offense at the deadline. Kind of crazy in the sense that Adell's double is ten feet higher and a totally different article gets written. Margin of feet and even inches. Like Braden's double down the RF line. Must be pretty annoying to Red Sox Nation. "The temperature was 61 degrees with a 13-mph wind in from center, and White Sox pitchers used it to their advantage. The Guardians hit the seven longest batted balls of the game, and all but Adell's triple ended up being flyouts. *Kay (96.7 mph) and Newcomb (97.3 mph) also averaged well above their season fastball velocities, which made it more jarring when Burke's first fastball clocked in at 91.8 mph." soxmachine.com FanGraphs BaseballWhite Sox Beat Guardians at Their Own Game to Take 2-0 AL...Anyone else starting to get 2007 Rockies vibes from these White Sox?

This Day In Sox History 10/6...
SEVEN factoids today: October 6, 1905 - The Sox lost the pennant on the next to last day of the season when pitcher Guy "Doc" White couldn’t beat the bottom feeding St. Louis Browns. White and the Sox lost 6-2 which handed the flag to the Philadelphia Athletics. The Browns scored five runs in the third inning. The Sox would finish the season two games off the pace. That year they had six games declared ties which factored in to the final standings. 92-60-6 was the final total for the season. October 6, 1908 - The Sox lost the pennant on the last day of the season when Ty Cobb and Detroit won the decisive game 7-0. Guy "Doc" White again was the pitcher of record, only this time he may have had an excuse. He was working on two day’s rest having beaten the Tigers 3-1 on October 4. October 6, 1909 - Architect Zachary Taylor Davis submitted his design for a new ballpark on the South Side to owner Charles Comiskey. The concrete and steel structure was considered revolutionary for its time yet only took three and a half months to complete the following year, opening in July 1910. October 6, 1923 – It was his first year on the team and turned out to be his last appearances of the season but future Hall of Famer Ted Lyons had himself an afternoon in Cleveland. The right hander from Texas came in to pitch in the first game of a double header, threw three innings in relief and got the win as the Sox won 6-3 by scoring four times in the ninth inning. Later in the afternoon Lyons came in to pitch again in relief in the second game, tossing a little over four innings and yes, he got the win again as the Sox took the contest 7-6. Lyons threw almost eight innings total. When his career ended in 1946, he’d win 260 games, the most ever for a White Sox pitcher. October 6, 1959 - At the mammoth L.A. Coliseum, which was the temporary home of the Dodgers, the White Sox played small ball in game #5 of the World Series. They beat Sandy Koufax 1-0 to stay alive, cutting L.A.’s lead to three games to two. The only Sox run scored on a double play ground ball but it turned out to be enough. The Sox became the first team in World Series history to have three pitchers combine for the shut out (Bob Shaw, Billy Pierce and Dick Donovan). The game also featured one of the greatest catches in World Series history as “Jungle” Jim Rivera ran a long way and made an over the shoulder catch in the seventh inning with two men on base to save the game robbing Charlie Neal of a potential game winner. Also it was a day game and Rivera somehow located the ball against a murderous background filled with white shirts and white dresses worn by the fans. Alas the Dodgers beat the Sox in game #6 9-3, to win the series four games to two. October 6, 2000 - Another dramatic and fantastic season was ruined as the Sox fell apart and lost the divisional series in three straight games to the Mariners. The M’s clinched the series despite a heroic effort from pitcher James Baldwin. “JB,” pitching with a bad arm, held the Mariners to one run on three hits in six innings of game #3. Seattle scored the series clinching run in the 2-1 win on a suicide squeeze from Carlos Guillen in the ninth inning. Replays showed him clearly out of the batter’s box on the bunt attempt, stepping over home plate, but Sox manager Jerry Manuel never protested the play. October 6, 2011 - Former White Sox star Robin Ventura was named manager, succeeding Ozzie Guillen, who bolted for Miami after losing a power struggle with Ken Williams in the front office. Ventura was named to the post only after Paul Konerko was approached and offered a player-manager role, which he refused. Ventura proved a fresh alternative to Guillen — at least for one successful year; the 2012 team led the A.L. Central for much of the season, they had a three-game lead with 16 left to play, before faltering and finishing 85-77. It was Ventura’s five-year tenure at the helm that ultimately plunged the White Sox into a rebuilding mode since he had little success afterwards and appeared to, at times, regret taking the job.
