That era has been dead. -
I am certain there are some shareholder owners that invest to lose money and win, but I'm guessing the majority are in it to make a profit. Same as every other business owner.
-
Bears gotta double team Puka on every snap right? Carolina did't do that and they got burned. Davante Adams is a shell of his former self. He is still dangerous in the red zone though. Bears got a chance to win this game if they shut down Puka and contain the Rams running game.
-
Sox fans have major PTSD. Instead of being mad at our lazy owner for shutting the door on tons of different ways to try to win, we are pissed at the teams who are trying to win in every way possible. It's wild.

Time for the era of the Dominicans baby

More like Canfarto. -
The Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field would like a word with you
-
Yeah, they count wins and losses differently. A city of drunken bro-dudes being able to walk around a street for an eveniong with throw-up on their shirts, high-fiving all the other drunks is just a by-product of the real game.

2026 International signings thread
Autumn Dreamin replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in FutureSox Board
A few minutes of Fegan and Keller. A little chat on the new DR complex being a selling point going forward and expanding scouting efforts in Mexico. You do get the impression they've invested more in their international resources when Keller's citing bat speed numbers of a Dominican teenager lol Keller sounds really high on Valdez, 6'4"/200 with 109+ exit velos already and he says he's hit a HR at every in person look. -
Agreed. And people forget the Dodgers were almost destroyed by Frank McCourt's ownership. Smart, savvy ownership along with a good front office and organization goes a long way towards leveling out the playing field and so many of these teams don't have that nor do they seem willing to invest in it. But they'll complain about inequalities. Sorry that doesn't move me at all. If you can't compete or choose not to, simple solution, get out, sell and let someone else try.
-
The big problem with a cap is that MLB isn't like the other sport in that they have an anti-trust exemption, and the lions share of money comes from local deals, and national ones. You can't build a model that works the same way, because the revenues aren't the same way, The problem isn't that the Dodgers are spending, its that so many teams who can, are not.
-
Cags will (probably) be fine, but the rush by some to crown him as the one that got away while calling Colson a bust is funny in retrospect
-
They aren't though. Take a lot at what the Yankees make on paper.

https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/news/chicago-white-sox-2026-international-signings?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage I don’t see this anywhere on this board unless I’m missing something.

A cap is great for 100% of the owners and that's as far as it goes in my opinion. Which is why the union will never agree to one and wait for the owners to fold their tents as historically they have every time.
-
Obviously we will see what happens. But historically the owners has collapsed every single time. The MLBPA is the strongest union in the world and I don't expect things to radically change this time around. And just as a reminder revenue sharing is already taking place in a number of areas among MLB. And of course said owners are using that money to help their bank accounts instead of improving on-field produce which is why that system isn't working either. Owners have been saying players make to much money literally since the 1880's. Even WITH a salary cap, that attitude won't change. Just my opinion it's time for the White Sox to start acting like a big market team and look out for themselves if they really want to compete.
-
I’m so proud of you!
-
Hey, let's make it about that: https://www.mlb.com/news/top-100-mlb-players-for-2026-by-mlb-network Colson #88. I choose to believe this is as low as he'll be on this list for several years. Obviously no other Sox crack the list.

Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
Chicago White Sox replied to Snopek's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Imagine this lineup in two years: Antonacci, 2B* Teel, CA* Cholowsky, SS C. Montgomery, 3B* Murakami, 1B* Bonemer, LF B. Montgomery, RF# Clifford, DH* Baldwin# / FA / Trade, CF Try to move Quero after the 2026 season for a CF. Carlson replaces Antonacci the following year if all goes to plan (and pushes Roch to 2B). Regardless, there would be a fuckton of potential with that lineup and adding 25 dongs from that Big Red Dog is a key part of it. Make it happen Getz! -
Agreed

Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
Chicago White Sox replied to Snopek's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yup, Mets fans are saying the same things. Stearns doesn’t want to commit to that many years. Robert actually makes perfect sense for them. He’s a high risk, high reward player who they can afford to roll the dice on I hopes of narrowing their gap to the Dodgers come the playoffs. -
A cap and floor with revenue sharing is what this league needs. I’m sure someone will say “the players will never agree to it”, but I feel like there are enough small market clubs who will take a hard stance this time and such a construct will help the broader player’s union if negotiated fairly.

Yes. But when they not want to give a 5/6/7/8 year deal , $30M+ deal. Plus 100% tax on the years they spend over on it
