  1. Past hour

  2. Gausman agreed to waive his block on trades to Sox?
  3. I hadn’t spent much time in this thread until I was ready to contribute - it’s pretty shocking how many of us are expecting Ray and Stephenson.
  4. That has a ring to it!
  5. Sox get Holmes, Stephenson, and Ray. Another route I could also see them take if Holmes doesn’t work out is something like Miller from Seattle for Chase plus prospects conditionally with Luis Arraez in the Ray deal. While everyone is focusing on Detmers from the Angels, I’m hoping they also take a swing at Kirby Yates. Starting five becomes: Burke, Martin, Ray, Holmes / Miller, Kay Pen: Taylor, Yates, Hicks, Newcomb, Hudson, McDougal, Dominguez, Schultz, Fedde Lineup: Antonacci, Mune, Vargas, Colson, Stephenson, Beni, Braden, Meidroth, Peters Or Arraez, Antonacci, Mune, Vargas, Colson, Stephenson, Beni, Braden, Peters Bench: Acuna, Grichuk, Pereria
  6. Yea but the angels are pretty dumb.
  7. Today

  8. Has now tied Okamoto with 23 homers, most ever by a Japanese rookie, beating Ohtani’s 22…
  9. I fell asleep early and had dreams of Tra La, Tra La Land. It’s just a deserted island with a bunch of Sydney Sweeney clones.
  10. Girardi was talking about. How rare it is to see someone go oppo on that pitch and hit it with such power.
  11. Any reporters ask Venable about the decision to take Sam out
  12. I doubt it happens but I kind of agree. Everyone wants to trade Meidroth but I think Montgomery has the riskier long-term profile (in part due to his back) and simultaneously should have more trade value
  13. I hope he replaces Grichuk
  14. Quero sucking helped the walk off hit that came out of the end of the bat. If he had hit it better it would have been right at the CF. IMO.
  15. Angels should move him now with a potential stoppage ahead. He’ll be a lot less valuable if next year gets wiped out.
  16. He didn't even call pitches in college. He's really green. And when I saw him talking about his thought process at the plate, it made me think he's barely ever thought about pitch sequencing and stuff. Not much more advanced than "sometimes pitchers throw pitches outside the zone and I realized they did it on purpose trying to make me swing"
  17. That might be the story of the crying kid
  18. I think we can finally give an assessment on this poll and the answer is YES… IF you’re going to get at least two starting pitchers and a catcher AND you’re keeping the farm strong. Those are some tough constraints and if it’s not able to be done, then get as close as possible to it but do not sell the farm.
  19. I seriously doubt Detmers is moving anywhere, let alone to our Sox.
  20. You just know Schlittler took a lot of grief as a kid then he started throwing a baseball and everyone was his friend.
  21. Horrible use of payroll dollars. And honestly, there is a greater scarcity of bats this deadline than SPs.
  22. The Sox’s revenue is up a fuckton vs. expectations…there is cash to be burn. Unfortunately Detmers doesn’t have a huge salary so it won’t come into play when we acquire him. Ray & Gausman both have $7.5M+ left on their deals this year. That’s going to be a big number for a lot of clubs. That’s where the Sox money will help. Add Detmers and one of the other two and we are fucking cooking.
  23. Thats what I thought initially when the Teel injury happened but everyone said Smith’s defense is a major work in progress.
