  1. Past hour

  2. It’s really sad that my reaction to reading this post was, “Wow, I’m surprised he has struck out less than 50% of the time in August. It honestly feels like 75% of the time.”
  3. You can't because they have 3 hitters who have close to 30 home runs. Do the guardians?
  4. Didn’t have the pitching prospects needed to trade
  5. For those who have asked “But who should have Getz targeted?” while I’ve continued to criticize his lack of ambition in seeking a second starting pitcher at the deadline: I’ve answered this before. Foster Griffin has been my response. Nobody can argue that we wouldn’t have been capable of beating the crap package the Indians set out to Washington for him. He may end up being the difference in the AL Central title this year.
  6. I don't have a strong opinion about that one. It's only slightly less old school than "keep your eye on the ball". I think it's a swing thought that helps some guys sometimes, but I suspect that too much pull is more of a symptom than a cause for Colson.
  7. Its fine if they shove him in the pen and use him in games like last night.
  8. Sure, if you want to pretend someone out there is going to give them long innings and no runs. The pen is fried, and even bad long outings are better than burning through multiple relievers to get the same crappy innings.
  9. Cannon's been solid for a while outside of getting bitten by the typical International League homer bug. 50K to 13 BB since July started, back to getting whiffs on the fastball. He should be able to give them innings.
  10. His grandmother, Sally, passed away. Here's a nice story from several years ago about her and the rest of the family: https://medium.com/gordon-edes/road-to-boston-paved-with-benintendi-cd59045cf0fd
  11. So Doyle, who has never faced deGrom, gets the start instead of Grichuk who is 5/13 with 2 HR against deGrom 🤪🤪
  12. Not the guy we wanted to lose for a day or two.
  13. Wonder if its Brozoban after his weird mound moment last night. If its for injury related moves, then ok. Shove him in the pen as an extra arm. Thats fine.
  14. All the best to Benintendi and his family.
  15. Most of them got hurt. Not a lot of depth at the upper levels either.
  16. You can say the exact same thing about the Sox though can't you? The pitching is a mess and the hitters collectively have fallen off the cliff.
  17. How is it possible there hasn’t been one relief prospect that did enough in the minors to get promoted to the majors this year? Just crazy development incompetence.
  18. Just about anything is better than what we saw last night. Cannon sucks, but he does have his moments. You just have to hope he's the good version when the game is tight.
  19. He has almost a 6.00 ERA in August.
  20. Not the innings he's going to give them. Itll be no better then what you saw last night.
  21. Landon is a spray tan away from being on Jersey Shore.
  22. Wouldn't be a bad idea. Not only do you open up an active roster spot for Cannon but you also open a 40-man spot when you want to activate Thorpe.
