  2. His wife had a miscarriage early in the 2025 season. Doyle took some time off to spend time with his family, but regrets not spending more time with them. Seven days wasn't enough. However, the off-season helped him a lot by giving him time for his family.Feb 16, 2026 Rockies' Brenton Doyle Ready to Rebound After Challenging ... Brenton Doyle posts about the loss of his baby : r/baseball Reddit · r/baseball 200+ comments · 1 year ago It's extremely common. We found out at 20 weeks, but it was likely a "silent miscarriage" that she carried for 3-4 weeks before we found out…
  3. Yep. We’re undefeated against the Red Sox this year when facing a righty starter.
  4. This might be the most unhinged sentence ever typed on Soxtalk.
  5. Wouldn't judge a person going through either (miscarriage or your scenario) but I think the two are a little different! Tray rubs dirt on his miscarriages and gets back up.
  6. I'm going through IVF with my wife right now, hasn't been successful for about a year and a half and it's certainly taxing and I have my wife by my side most days. I can't imagine how painful losing a child at any age would be. There's this sense in the IVF circles that once the child is born you can relax a little so to spreak, but then you hear stuff like this where tragedy can strike at any moment. To say someone should put that all aside to focus on playing a child's game is a pretty brutal take.
  7. Can’t imagine who fed him that nugget
  8. Haha not at all, but Martin has been brutal. Woulda been nice to get a league average starter at the TDL.
  9. Ken Rosenthal, on the big picture: “The dirty little secret of a salary cap and floor system is that it would not guarantee small-market teams success. Many would need to develop more of a killer instinct, an instinct the Dodgers demonstrate time and again.”
  10. Romero is about the only one of these so-called 'insiders' who isn't a complete idiot.
  11. Are you excited about Jose Urquidy coming to the White Sox?
  12. Today

  13. My oldest son is getting ready to start college. He just found out recently that one of his football teammates and classmates at Brother Rice died in a car accident. The kid hadn’t even turned 18 yet. I can’t imagine how the parents must feel right now. I know I wouldn’t be able to focus on my job, and I damn sure wouldn’t care about the game of baseball for a long while, if ever.
  14. Looks like two good 5 inning starts for Urquidy so far but he’s not striking enough batters out.
  15. Saving potentially 1-2 runs in the process…
  16. Human nature to connect off field issues with slumps in performance, going back to Dunn and TÁ, among many others…Burger, Hendriks, etc. Virtually no information is private anymore with social media, and it wouldn’t be out there without he and his wife making that disclosure.
  17. Batting .500 with the White Sox. Take that, haters!
  18. I'm thinking that tonight might be our best chance for a win, unless Castillo reverts to past form.
  19. Had a nice outfield assist that was right on the money to nab a runner trying to stretch a single into a double.
  20. What the hell, man? Until you go through something like this, don't talk about it. Trust me, it is NOT a bump in the road. It's devastating and something you get through, not over.
  21. Since June 1st, Davis Martin has a 6.82 ERA. Removing last night's debacle it's still 5.87. Is Jose Urquidy ready? Need Burke to keep ascending tonight!
  22. Between dishonestly using racism as a tool, and now this, you are a terrible person. A child died, and now you are exploiting that too? Have a little shame. Everyone processes death differently, and you don't get to decide how people process their death of their child. Grow up.
  23. Someone needs to slow down the Red Sox a little bit. Why not us? Happy its not another leftie today.
  24. How did Doyle look last night? I watched part of the 1st (turned off after the grand slam) and then had to board a flight. Saw him chasing down some balls off the green monster, but nothing else.
  25. Sean Burke vs. Sonny Gray. Going to be a fantastic pitching matchup. Team should be hungry after its ass whipping yesterday. Burke is also from Massachusetts so I’d expect he’ll be amped up pitching in front of friends & family. It’s going to feel like a playoff game tonight. I flew into Boston last night with the wife & eldest son and will be in attendance. I refuse end the day without a White Sox win. Let’s fucking go!
  26. Looking at Doyle & Mike Cameron, their first 3 full seasons look comparable. Coors Field has to be taken into account for hitting but defensively and stealing bases are close. With his outstanding defense and speed at worst he is a 4th outfielder. Get his bat going again and he is a stud.
