  1. Past hour

  2. Lol. Did we always blame coaches or was there a time that the player failed and it was their fault? Is it really the hitting coach against the pitching coach backed by their analytics departments?
  3. Regardless of what happens now, it’s pretty obvious that the Guarduans were/are a better team than the Sox. They came back and took the division from the Sox and came back and took a postseason series from the Sox down 0-2 at home.
  4. Most teams would be happy to have these numbers
  5. The Sox had the least DPs in all of MLB with 73 The last 3 games were terrible, but the season had some solid numbers. AL: Sox #1 in runs, this is the most important stat. Sox #1 in base on balls Sox #1 hit by pitch Sox#2 OBP Sox#3 HR Sox#3 strike out Sox#30 (in MLB) ground into least DP
  6. Today

  7. Or you can hit into a double play. High ground ball rates are killer, as we found out in 2022
  8. deLauter might end up as their best hitter last rookie in Top 5 hitting for CLE since Shoeless Joe in 1911 lol almost as crazy as Sox K statistics and now CLE has Messick and Williams to go up against Peralta and likely Nick Martinez
  9. Without a doubt, most in the Metro area live in Tampa and the northern suburbs. For those fans it’s a bad trek down to St. Pete especially on weekdays during rush hour with all the bridges having huge traffic jams. Fans in the towns east of the Bay have to travel up to 30 miles out of their way as they have to take I-75 south to 275 and then come back north across the Sunshine Skyway bridge. Actually for me here in Port Charlotte and fans in Bradenton, Sarasota and Venice it will be a longer trip. What the difference in attendance will be is anyone’s guess but the Lightning and the Bucs draw very well in Tampa, my guess the Rays will probably average 5,000 fans more a game with a lot more in the first few years. We take 3-4 cruises a year out of Tampa and we can get to the port which is right next door to Benchmark Arena in less than 90 minutes and it would probably be about 15 minutes more to the new ballpark.
  10. Right on. Putting the ball in play is more productive than a K, as anything can happen. Ks are rally killers with RISP.
  11. The problem at the end was that we were swinging for the fences, and not connecting for any homers. If we were hitting some homers along with the strike outs, would have been more palatable.
  12. You left out Colson.
  13. Didn’t help in the playoffs against better pitching. No adjustments made by our hitters or coaches. 40 strike outs in 2 games in the playoffs is a fireable offense. We can’t fire the whole team so Shomon will need to take the hit. IMO.
  14. Guardians hitting homers lately, while the Sox long ball disappeared in the playoffs. Rays didn’t not get the memo of not letting Adell and Ramirez beat them on Game 1. Adell trade deadline acquisition has helped the Guardians, where was Getz? Getting fleeced by the Mariners?
  15. Historical results speak for themselves.
  16. From the Sun-Times story tonight: "Being humiliated by the rival Packers is a red flag that his predecessors haven’t had to confront in years. Matt Eberflus never lost by as many as 24 points at Lambeau Field. Neither did Matt Nagy or John Fox. The last time the Bears were so outclassed in Green Bay was a 55-14 loss in 2014 that set Marc Trestman down the road to unemployment. No one is suggesting Johnson is on that path. He won the NFC North last year and deserves credit for leading the Bears to consecutive victories with two different backups under center. The worst part is who it was against — and how that affects the Bears’ postseason chances. The Bears went 2-4 in the North last season and still somehow found a way to win it. That won’t happen again. The Bears are 3-2, yet last in the NFC North, the result of losing both their divisional games this season. The Vikings, who many thought were the worst team in the North, are 5-0 this season. The Packers are Lions are each 3-2. The former knew what was at stake, beyond just rivalry bragging rights, on Sunday. The easiest path to the playoffs is to beat up on your division. Since Johnson took over, though, the Vikings lead the NFC North with a 6-2 record. The Packers are 5-3 and the Lions 2-4. The Bears are 2-6. Johnson has won 25% of his regular-season divisional games, the same as Trestman. He could win his next five NFC North contests and still have a worse divisional winning percentage than Nagy did the day he was fired." Chicago Sun-TimesBen Johnson's loss was disconcerting for reasons that go...Sunday’s blowout at the hands of his rival came with the Bears favored to win at Lambeau Field for the first time in 20 years. Expectations were different. The disappointment was greater.
  17. Far to often in my opinion the Sox game plan was to "hope" things would happen for the better. History shows more often than not, "hope" is not a recipe for success.
  18. And don't forget Brazoban! 😁
  19. Yeah, but are they going to have studs like Castillo and Doyle around for additional years?
  20. Man that Buffalo/Rams game was an all-time classic. Hard to believe that was the first time Allen ever won an overtime game.
  21. So much will depend on how much of a roll Ishbia has. When all is said and done, winning orgs build a roster with a contingency plan if things go wrong. Loser orgs create a roster based on wishful thinking and best case scenarios.
  22. Good luck with that idea. Let's just say the track record not just in his disastrous time with the Sox but even before that isn't very good. If he is going to get hammered basically every time out, force a bigger load on the bullpen and make it almost impossible to win the game, the innings pitched factor doesn't matter.
  23. Cleveland does what Cleveland does. Been doing it for a decade.
