Since the deadline the Sox are 4th in position player WAR and 5th in wRC+ in all of baseball. Meanwhile they're 22nd and 20th in pitching WAR and ERA. They blew it because the Sox acquired no real starters at the deadline when it was a desperate need.

I do feel like if they waited a few weeks/month, they could have had both Castillo and Doyle for nothing (waiver/DFA claims) as there were prospects knocking on the door both teams wanted to play

At least we avoided Mason Adams pitching a meaningful G162 against the Sox by one start and an early clinching. So there's that.
