  2. Teel only had 63 ABs post rehab and hit .190 with 2 HR. Holding serve with Quero, who had 150ABs and hit .187 with 2 HR. There were higher expectations for Teel than there was for Quero. Teel chose to gain 20 pounds in the off-season and bulked up with weights. He will have time now to possibly consider a new path forward in terms of his conditioning and diet. Maybe lighter and faster like he used to be instead of heavier and stronger. IMO Getz will not settle for Quero as the primary catcher knowing that Teel is toast until some time next year.
  3. What is a Boston Smith for? Already 23, raking in AA. Not much experience as a catcher or what? Must not be ready yet. Maybe when he’s 25!
  4. LRJ 0-4 with 3 Ks and a hard lineout in his first game back, batting 7th and playing CF
  5. Not too late for Greg’s Tim Anderson plan…
  6. Now it’s going back in the other direction if Crochet comes back and helps lead Boston to the playoffs… Just Braden and Meidroth for Crochet suddenly looks quite different, especially if Quero can’t get his head out of his ass the remainder of the season. This trade would still look better if they could invest the Crochet savings (not signing him long term) into Murakami or Vargas.
  7. Not that there’s anything wrong with that!
  8. He was part of the team hitting a buck ninety. We might be upgrading, or holding serve here.
  9. He's nowhere near ready to catch in the bigs, considering he's hardly caught at all. Wasn't behind the plate until his senior year IIRC, and has only played ~40 games there in the minors this year.
  10. Fedde quietly has a 2.68 ERA over his last 10 appearances Seems like he could be a solid long guy in the event they do add someone to the rotation
  11. I saw that crotch bump after today's game I was like they're getting mighty close there. Guess it's not the 1st time they've been ummm that close.
  12. Well the Pope tried making the Sox realize that Romo wasn't the answer and that didn't work so he went to the Teel injury. It'll work out better in the end from divine intervention, 😉😇
  13. I was impressed you got the 2 things in your check list also !
  14. I know this will be unpopular, but I wouldn't waste trade capital on a catcher, especially for a rental. I'd prefer they burry Quero in the 8/9 spot and hope the lineup gives him enough protection that we see a resurgent 2025 version of him. Losing Teel will suck, but it's not like they had him all that long this season to begin with. Just focus on pitching and bullpen help, IMO.
  15. 8 shortstops and .25 catchers. It’s getting noteworthy

Did a little Google stalking and Boston Smith is as unique as his name. He is a good enough athlete that during his Junior year, he was Wright State’s starting shortstop. Apparently the team had other catchers. He isn’t super experienced at catcher, but he’s plenty athletic for the position. He’s new to calling games, so it would be a stretch to see him catch in the majors any time soon. He’s always hit though, so his bat has a chance of outpacing his glove since he can play left as well. Currently rocking a .500 ISO, which would make him a HoF. That’s gonna come down, but he had a .300 ISO in W-S. He’s one of those pop up guys who just has to prove it at every level, Ala Romy Gonzalez, but there’s a good chance Boston Smith is a dude.
  17. All we are saying ..... Is give Lee a chance.
  18. It's been that way before Disney. When you are a 24 hour news network you have to make stuff up. They went down the toilet like MTV.
  19. Our thoughts are with Kyle Teel as he faces this next challenge. He was part of a great young team with unlimited expectations and now he isn't.
  20. It's a development year that went "wrong". They are winning games despite these injuries. They can be more cautious and not hurry a player.
  21. Beni's contract aged just fine thank you very much.....just ignore the part where he was also marketed as a GG OF and not just a DH. I've never had much of a problem with him to be honest, probably because I hated that friggin guy from the Dodgers that he replaced here.
  22. Also great career stats with bases loaded.
