  1. Past hour

  2. The only way the Hicks/Sandlin trade can really be a bust is if Gage Ziehl turns into a better starter than Sandlin. Otherwise, it’s just money that would have stayed in Jerry’s pocket.
  3. Today

  4. Hicks Newcomb Dominguez…one hit one miss and however you describe Hicks after the eighth inning last night Jury still out on Sandlin gaining better control/command and figuring out how to get more movement on his four seam fastball
  5. Pretty sure very few people said this. You must be thinking of the Cease trade.
  6. We let Crochet go for nothing!!! I am so aggrieved!!! Fire everybody!!!!
  7. You didn't expect it ? I stayed away because I didn't want to get into it with the same old Getz haters crying about a tiny move and blowing it out of proportion to say same old Sox and Getz sucks while hoping down in their souls that the Sox don't win the division so they can be vindicated that you can blame it all on the TDL acquisitions + Pham while the Sox are 1 game behind their high point above .500 . It's their last hurrah although they are inventive when it comes to finding scapegoats. Everyone probably thought for sure Colson had no chance of reaching 30 HR's before Mune or Vargas . I hope all 3 hit a HR tomorrow and Martin shuts down the Asstros !
  8. Are we sure of that ? Didn't the trade with Boston where we picked up Hicks money and Sandlin come after the Robert trade ? I think people are in such a hurry to blitz Getz they do stupid fan stuff like misremember how that money was reallocated. All it takes is for one person to say yea it sucked , we got no value should've kept Robert and everyone buys in and doesn't check the actual timeline of events.
  9. Schriffen should be fired for this sort of insensitivity! You know this wasn’t just a slip of the tongue. Simply unacceptable. Jerry, you must replace this guy immediately!
  10. 2. American League Central race. ESPN.comOK, as far as division races go, this isn't exactly the 1978 AL East or 1993 NL West. But the Chicago White Sox head into September with a three-game lead over the Cleveland Guardians as Chicago looks to become one of the most improbable division winners ever -- or maybe the most improbable. Even in what was projected to be a soft division in the preseason, FanGraphs gave the White Sox just a 0.5% chance of winning the division. ESPN's odds were even lower. Those odds don't tell the story of how remarkable it would be to go from 102 losses to a division title. No team has won a division title the season after losing 100 games (and, don't forget, the White Sox also lost a modern-record 121 games in 2024). The 2016-17 Twins went from 103 losses to 85 wins and a wild card, while the 2023-24 Royals went from 106 losses to 86 wins and a wild card; the White Sox are trying to beat those turnarounds with a division title. Key trend: The White Sox went 14-14 in August despite the rotation posting a 6.21 ERA; only the Athletics and Colorado Rockies had a worse rotation ERA in the month. Deadline acquisition Luis Castillo has been ineffective, going 1-1 with a 6.45 ERA in five starts with the White Sox, getting knocked out in four of those games before completing five innings and allowing seven home runs in just 22⅓ innings. Sean Burke had been so good all season but has perhaps hit a wall, walking eight batters in his last start and allowing four runs in the two outings before that. Davis Martin is on the injured list because of a blister problem and is 0-2 with an 8.03 ERA in six starts since the All-Star break. The offense has kept things afloat, but it has been a scramble for manager Will Venable to get through the early innings of games.
  11. They would have had to pay full freight on his remaining contract. Someone could have claimed him or Friedl…but maybe the Reds wanted something in return as well?
  12. SIStan Kroenke Is the Best Owner Angels Fans Could Have Hop...The owner of the Los Angeles Rams has agreed to buy the Angels for a record $4 billion. He’s already turned several teams across different sports into winners.
  13. Most in the league this season. Our Sox are now more middle of the pack after being top 2 in walks allowed over the previous few years. I liked Katz and thought it was mostly a personnel problem, but it does make you think...
  14. Jedixson Paez made his first MLB appearance since being returned to Boston 3.2 IP, 10 H (2 HR), 8 ER, 2 BB, 3 K
  15. Some are saying this was the turning point of the season. Sox took the lead the very next inning
  16. We match up well with the Astros. They allow a ton of walks.
  17. I agree with you. I think he’s ready to help.
  18. BamaDoc replied to BamaDoc's topic in FutureSox Board
Good start for Schultz but a little short.
  19. Is this true? How does it work? If he gets hurt is he able to get that money when he turns 16. This seems like a crazy thing.
  20. Walks are important and we need to limit them as pitching going forward.
  21. Magic number to clinch a WC is 20.
