I 'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you did some reading and you understand that the angle of his swing was found to be very different than what it was pre-injury and post injury/slash HR Derby. But just in case and for others sake here it is. The "Good" Period: Murakami's attack angle averaged 18.8 degrees, allowing him to cleanly square up the ball. The "Slump" Period: His average attack angle jumped to 21.5 degrees. While a 2-to-3 degree shift sounds small to the casual observer, in modern baseball metrics, a jump of that magnitude mid-season is massive. It completely altered his swing tilt into an extreme "uppercut" path. This change caused his squared-up contact rate to plummet from over 21% down to a meager 12%, explaining the sudden rise in high fly outs and strikeouts.

I'll be watching more Rangers & Astros than White Sox today I think . hoping that we play the Rangers . I lived in Dallas for several years and went to a ton of Ranger games . never did much like Houston.

He's still a rookie in MLB subject to the ups and downs of that time in your career. He missed a lot of time and then was thrust into the HR Derby right away. Both of those things have been known to mess up a swing as finely tuned as Murakami's . If you do indeed hate to be right then don't cling to your narrative. He could have had 40-45 HR's if he didn't get hurt and if he was healthy the HR Derby maybe doesn't mess up his swing. He could've been even better instead of going into such a long slump. They desperately need what he provides and should make every effort to resign him. Tell me what , in your opinion, would Murakami have to do to be considered "back" ?

Astros are starting Lambert today on 2 days rest. Their plan would probably then be Brown on 3 days rest for game 1.

I agree with this: Go with Sandlin Tuesday. As far as I’m concerned, he’s their best starter right now, even over Burke. Plus let’s be honest, any Sox starter they use is gonna be new to the playoffs and nervous. Go with Sandlin. Well actually, Castillo has plenty of playoff experience and . . . .

It’s unfortunate but the Sox do not have the option to re-order the starters. Everything isn’t a 1:1 ending for something that happened 20 years ago

I would rather see Burke on his normal rest schedule and he pitches Wednesday. Sean Newcomb has excellent career stats for playoff pitching with Atlanta. I think using him as an opener + would calm Sandlin down and ease him into the game. Newcomb in 6 playoff games is 1-0 1.08 era

Guards have never been able to translate their in season success to any kind of real post season success. Like I said, I think we get to the ALCS.

do you really think they're going to trust a rookie pitcher to carry the load in the biggest game of the season? by relative importance to the organization, Hagen or Schultz could benefit even more as fellow rookies no matter what they choose, it's going to be second guessed Sandlin either does pretty well or gets totally bombed out of the stadium the early going then you're talking on the road against a highly seasoned playoff team

Personally I think it’s nuts to play Colson if the goal is to win playoff games. The infield can survive with Meidroth at short and Ant at second plus on offense they both add punch. Colson is dead weight. Whatever they do with him or he does with himself during the off season is his next chapter. Right now he’s a liability that doesn’t belong.

we ignore the MUCH bigger picture and that is Schultz and Smith. This team has a pitching staff put together by duct tape.

If Colson runs into one in the playoffs it could a game winner or series winner.
