White Sox DFA Austin Hays
Yea, this coming offseason is likely going to be hell and will for sure include a ton of “if’s”

White Sox DFA Austin Hays
All depends on when they agree to a new CBA and set parameters. Plus what JR allows him to do.

Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
OUCH! Guess he wasn’t “fixed” 😆 Will have to look up and see what kind of situation they used him in. Edit: Wasn’t even a leverage situation 😆

And we went into that offseason without expecting anything better than a 3rd place finish… at best. I sure hope his next offseason is better.

Apparently Teel picked up on it during the game and was able to start calling Martins pitches before they were released. He told Martin and Bart, and he threw up some 0s.

Getz off-season FA MLB additions so far: Hays - DFA'ed Seranthony - Given away as if he was worth zero Reese McGuire - Released Fedde - (-.3 fWAR with a 5.4 FIP) Murakami - Obviously great, but a reminder that he fell into their laps Kay - .8 fWAR with a 4.8 FIP (I'd call this a solid signing even though I'm not a fan of Kay's. He's definitely covered some innings and given them a chance to win games.) Our World Class GM that has "earned" the benefit of the doubt!

The problem is more the roster slots, versus the players.

A big group of buskers in Ireland sang this as a tribute....very emotional.

Have you already forgotten the sensational Rikuu Nishida? 😄

Giving up on a career .282/.340/.477 against LHP you sunk $6M into for nothing when you struggle against LHP is head scratching to say the least.

DFA’ing two outfielders, including a 25 year old? It’s fairly obvious at this point that Getz ran out of time at the trade deadline and mismanaged the roster. I don’t think this can be denied at this point. He was obviously trying to eliminate the roster crunch by moving Pereira/Hays in some deals before the deadline but failed to do so.

Sox acquire Brenton Doyle - trade Adams and Carlos Vielma (SS)
From what I could find he was playing through some injuries this year at times and we are supposedly getting back at 100% health. I really think Fuller will make some adjustments to help him start driving the ball in the air again soon. I’m now at the Forest Gump moment of this thread… “That’s about all I’ve got to say about that.”

So Martin was tipping? Wouldn't surprise me if Red Sox are cheating.

so who do we have if an OF gets hurt? Junior Perez?

Yea, challenges I’m referring to are more so focused on using a wooden bat, facing better pitchers, and carrying the weight of being a number 1.1 pick.

I’m not that bad 😆😆😆 Was very successful in 2010 tech space, made a horrible choice in who I married and had a son with, and she pulled every trick in the “destroy a man” book. Pulled in multiple media syndicates, nonprofits, and a judge gave her everything she wanted on a new California definition in law. My life has been a train wreck for the last ten years.

Now that's a thought...- 8/5 GT - White Sox @ Red Sox (6:10pm CT)
Was having the same thought last night. Hopefully this tipping stuff is the issue, but it's been a trend for months now. Boston is also good, so there's that. If we can hang on to the division I feel like Will is going to be forced to do some opener tricks to start games in the playoffs anyway.- White Sox acquiring Joey Bart from ATL
If Romo sucks, somebody tell me why the likes of Austin Hedges and Martin Maldonado are (were) perpetually employed by MLB teams. I don't know if there are 'metrics' to determine how well a catcher calls a game, but Romo has caught several shutouts and there's a reason he hasn't been DFA'd despite a .500 OPS heavily buoyed by a killer first week. Can a 24-year-old with 200 MLB plate appearances not improve his hitting? Guy can be a ~70 ops+ hitter and still be very valuable. Is Quero cooked? His calling card is offense and he hasn't shown it in MLB, doesn't mean he won't. Seems like whatever he did in the offseason was a mistake because his AAA ops is 300 points lower than it was the last two seasons. Seems unwise to give up on guys in their early 20s who have demonstrated talent. Bart is a fine stopgap since he cost nothing but it would've been shortsighted to give up talented players for Stephenson or Liam Hicks.- 8/5 GT - White Sox @ Red Sox (6:10pm CT)
How about trying an opener for Martin before the IL ? In both the Yankee & Red Sox games he struggled big time in the first inning.- 8/5 GT - White Sox @ Red Sox (6:10pm CT)
Falstaff, I think we all did. Maybe not oldSox I dunno
