  1. Past hour
  2. They've were playing him through some nagging knee issue when we saw them last month, though this (back spasms) seems unrelated.
  3. KEEP THE FUCKING TRAIN ROLLIN BOYS!!!! THE MARCH TO 93 WINS CONTINUES WITH THE HUSTON ASSBLOWS COMING TO TOWN. TRASHTROS ASSHOES SWEEP THESE FOREVER TAINTED QUACKS AND THEN BRING ON THE YANKMES AND RAYS OF SUNSHINE AND BEAN BOYS AND SKYLINE CHILLI TURDS!!!! LETS FUCKING GO!!!!
  4. In certain situations including any time a base is open..yes. Then I would add a few unintentional/intentional walks and just pitch around him. Try not to let this guy beat you with a HR with men on base. Then a few high and tight pitches to back him off the plate. It's going to be tough.
  5. Since the ballparks in Houston and Seattle are now over 25 years old, I wonder if there have been recent advances in innovative design and materials for a retractable roof stadium that could provide for both an open view of the skyline and access to the river? The Sox would probably need a little more protection from the cold for early season games than a T-Mobile Park design would provide, but they don't need to necessarily make the place totally climate controlled to 72 degrees all summer long like in Houston. Just day dreaming as there's still a few hours to go until first pitch tonight.
  6. I fucking hate Romo in front of the top of the order. It should be Meidroth or Peters. Probably Peters.
  7. Kimbrel had his moments. I think it's a trade at the time most of us would have made.
  8. Boston had one hot streak. We have been the more consistent team. Numbers wise, we are better then Tampa and our success is probably more sustainability. Our X W/L is slightly better then Tampa.
  9. Arrighetti had a very rough June (9 ERA over 5 starts) but has limited the damage to 1 ER in two of his last 3 starts. When he gets in trouble, it’s usually due to a mix of walks (16 over his last 5 starts) and homers (9 in his last 5). He’s allowing a .384 OBP to lefties, and has been worse on the road (5.52 ERA) than at home (3.05). He throws a kitchen sink mix headlined by a good curveball (39% whiff rate, .181 xBA against). Sits 92-93 on the 4 seamer that he throws 29% of the time to mixed results (.292xBA, .556 xSLG). Would be a nice day for the Sox to slug a few into the seats and limit the impact of the best hitter in the league on the other side. Could be a big homestand if Mune/Colson can catch a heater.

I would guess Fauske is the most likely "big name" trade bait when Getz is shopping for a deadline upgrade. He's got some helium from his solid season but he's years away from contributing to the major league team and he does not have the ceiling of Carlson.
  12. There was so much bad juju around that time here. Was Liam probably sick and didn't have the diagnosis yet? I was sitting on a beach in N. MI when that trade went down, I remember posting here I believe that it was a wild ass swing but I was ready to move on from Madrigal, turned out nobody really won that one.
  13. Tampa and New York record wise. Would probably put Boston better than them at this point as well.
  14. 🤔 Who is better?
  15. I will always remember Hendriks saying he could be the any inning guy, knowing that Kimbrel needed the closer routine. Then TLR promptly not doing that.
  16. I reckon we all get dumb clickbait articles shown to us on our cellphone lock screens, but I had to click the one about 'Blue Jays cut ties with catcher' thinking they DFA'd Valenzuela for some reason and we could pick him. Turns out they were talking about Adam Hackenberg. Thought he had a pretty nice 2023 at Charlotte then he just disappeared off the face of the Earth.
  17. This! We are the second best team In the AL.
  18. It’s weird you don’t think we’re a “real contender” when we have the third best run differential in the AL and literally one less than the 2nd best team. Even if we want to go the cheaper route, we need to strive better than a guy with a 5+ FIP and whose velocity continues to trend down. I’d just give Mason Adams a look if that’s the best we can do.
  19. Most variable position in the sport and one dependent on the two other legs of a good team (SP and offense) is not one you really want to go all in on usually.
  20. To each their own…but completely disagree. I’d be more worried about just stabilizing the staff and not throwing out a SP that hurts the team every 5th day. I’ve got bad news for you if you think this team is acquiring someone that makes them a real contender. I think it’s important to reinforce the team enough to get to the playoffs to get the kids some experience, but making a big move to try and rush the WS window would be pretty dumb imo.
  21. Remember when we were saying that about Kimbrel and Hendriks?
  22. I don’t think Singer is good enough for what we need.
  23. Stephenson and Singer makes a ton of sense from Cinci. Should be able to fill 2 holes without giving up a top prospect. Maybe something like Adams, Mogollon/Bergolla and Lacombe/Larson? And then just get a cheap serviceable rental RP
  24. Friday night all access tonight! Which means my remote will be right next to my beer so I have all access to my mute button! Let's go!
  25. Yea I watch / listen to all the podcasts. When I saw your reply I had just woke up, hardly slept, and hadn’t had any coffee. So my ability to read was suppressed.
