  2. Don’t worry he isn’t saving any angst lol
  3. The Cleveland Clinic does have a Sports Medicine Center.
  4. The sweep, the draft, the All-Star game, let the good times roll.
  5. Rick Hahn = Ted Phillips, great bean counters but out of their element. Kenny Williams = John Paxton, both should have been launched much earlier.
  6. Oh, I’m with you. I wasn’t arguing who should win it. I was simply saying that writing “somehow” for Bellinger was a bit ridiculous, as if all he did was catch a fly ball or something.
  7. Let's get a move on with the stadium or I will need an assisted living high rise.
  8. Not a hill I’m willing to die on by any means, BUT…they clearly made this all star game even more of a wacky spectacle than years past. And in the spirit of that, a bomb of a home run is way more fun than a two run first inning single.
  9. I think the “oh gosh” part was PCA. They were doing an in-game interview with him while he was in centerfield.
  10. The call on that Vargas home run was great. Not the call, but the reaction from the color guy as the ball came off the bat: https://www.mlb.com/video/justin-wrobleski-in-play-run-s-to-miguel-vargas?partnerId=web_video-playback-page_video-share
  11. I'll worry about that when he gets back to the majors and is producing
  12. If the guardians trade for him you know what will happen
  13. Today
  14. "After graduating from Solon High School in suburban Cleveland, Passan attended the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, where he wrote for The Daily Orange and graduated in 2002 with a degree in journalism." Joe Posnanski was one of the last great baseball writers. He wrote for the Augusta Chronicle in the mid 90s before moving to the KC Star. Passan's at least in the top 25%, and has some of the best sources in the game...
  15. You ever actually try to read a Passan article, not just some tweet about a player being traded? That guy is functionally illiterate. So-called journalists nowadays read and write at an eighth grade level. Don't even get me started on editors (they don't exist, there's nothing to get started on).
  16. 90% of that job is the vibes. if the players are vouching for him, then thats about all she wrote. I’m in.
  17. Pluggers and grinders...more suitable for Peters Antonacci and Meidroth. Would hardly describe Vargas in that fashion.
  18. Seems all the players are crediting Venable for changing the vibe.
  19. He may not know if he’s getting lefties or righties, but he knows people who know, and he knows the people that know are good people.
  20. Sammy Sosa to the Cubs for George Bell was the grand poppy of them all! I can still remember Hawk talking about how great it was to have a “professional hitter” like Bell in the lineup that year.
  21. Certainly a choice to talk about Miguel Vargas like he's just one of their (multiple and likeable) grindy role players rather than a guy whose Savant page is more lit up than a Christmas tree:
  22. that s%*# is awful. if that is what passes for "sports writing" let AI take over. Too many awful fleets of fancy sentence to sentence to even bother, it's just non sense dressed up as some deep s%*#.

  24. Ho hum...AL wins again. That's 23 out of the last 29. Well done guys!
  25. They're practicing for when the Sox win the next 3 Series, and have 7 starters in the next 3 All-Star Games.
