  1. Past hour
  2. Getz is losing what little leverage he had. As it stands, we’re probably trading Robert just to save Jerry a little money. From a fan standpoint, I am pulling the plug on my Robert trade endorsement which was tepid anyway. Barring some unforeseen crazed GM that blows Getz away with a top prospect Revisit this idea at the deadline if Robert raised his value
  3. "Tekerman joked that Robert is so indefatigable in the batting cage that his presence is sometimes discouraging to his younger clients, convincing them they'll never make the majors if Robert represents the sort of work ethic necessary to play at the highest level" "He’s a mentor to his teammates, especially the younger ones, with great work ethic and a great sense of humor.” "It speaks to his work ethic, which speaks to how great he can be,”... “He’s got a really good work ethic. I saw it in the spring, and I was like, ‘OK, maybe this is (just because it’s) the spring. He’s getting after it in the spring.’ He gets after it every single day." “He practices extremely hard. He’s extremely focused.” "“What he does defensively, offensively. What he’s capable of doing, and certainly on the basepaths, we just love Luis Robert.” "He shows up every day very motivated. Sometimes in baseball it just clicks and you don’t really know why. But it’s certainly not going to click if someone doesn’t have the right work ethic and that’s not the case with Luis. He’s a pro and wants to get this right." I could add more and more quotes from various times from various people, but I think you get the point. Imagine still questioning Robert's work ethic in the year of our Lord 2026.
  4. Today
  5. Which of course got put on Robert being lazy, and not the hitting coach.
  6. What did Milwaukee do to unlock Vaughn's potential? Did they change anything about his swing? Did he just need a change of scenery? It's pretty wild how he completely turned into the hitter we all hoped he would be as soon as he was traded, and then sustained it.
  7. Yesterday
  8. Fair or unfair regarding Robert it didn't help the situation when he didn't even know the name of the White Sox hitting coach.
  9. That doesn't really bother me. I guess I argue against the "if only we would do all this stuff to create the perfect environment for Robert to not be ho-hum" people. He should be the guy who is the stuff that engenders excellence from his teammates, not the other way around. He does have value as our CF for the first 4 months of 2026. Unless he turns into Superman, he's not getting anything different out of trade partners in July. I think the league is wise to him.
  10. Or the Reds were truly interested, Getz didn’t back down from his prospect demands and/or refused to include as much money as the Reds wanted, so the Reds pivoted to a cheaper platoon solution.
  11. Wondering if the Gordon Wittenmeyer leak was more the Reds trying to get Bleday's people and the Marlins to s%*# or get off the pot.
  12. Yes. People shittalked David Wells for being a fat slob here and still do. Also yes, people had problems with Lance Lynn as well. You're not helping your argument here.
  13. Seems like it’s down to the Mets at this point, unless there is a mystery team™. I don’t buy the cheap Pirates ever being that interested and they also acquired Jhostynxon Garcia.
  14. So true. They just spent $2.32 million and their #18 prospect just to have a mediocre LF platoon and backup CF. Sounds like something the Sox would have done but the Reds beat them to the punch.
  15. Unless Getz has announced that he's got a keeper and everybody ought to pony up their best and last offer. f
  16. Reds gonna be the Reds. Which we know all about as far as bargain finding in the dumpster.
  17. They’re not making the move if they know Robert is coming
  18. If Murakami ends up with 2.1 fWAR and a 118 wRC+ I’d be pretty happy. That’s around an .800 OPS which compared to Vaughn looks like Big Frank is over there again.
  19. It’s a move you quickly make when trade talks for Robert fall through at least
  20. Being in shape, playing elite defense and base stealing are all traits of hustle guys that work hard. EXCEPT for Luis Robert, for some reason.
  21. That's a bit different as you can actually SEE that. It isn't something made up to fit a narrative. If Robert looked like Lance Lynn and had the same physical breakdown injuries, sure question away. If he made boneheaded plays on a regular basis, again, question away on his IQ. As it stands the dude is absolutely ripped and plays some of the best CF on the planet. He's even played while OBVIOUSLY injured. Did anyone question TLRs work ethic when he couldn't be bothered to know the rules? How about David Wells 50 pounds overweight with back injuries? Sure didn't stop Wells from shittalking Frank.
  22. The Reds needed another righty outfielder to platoon with Bleday and backup CF. Myers has hit lefties well in his short time. I doubt the Reds just traded their #18 prospect for Myers to not play him. LF: Bleday / Myers CF: Friedl / Myers RF: Marte They also have Lux and Benson to play the outfield. I think this pretty much ends the Robert to the Reds talk. Hopefully Getz doesn’t settle for Luisangel Acuña now. 🤢
  23. How did the Reds go from being on on Schwarber to this?
  24. A second OF acquisition has hit the Cincinnati Reds
