Pablo Torre report on Magic Johnson/dodgers insurance woes
Would be incredible if Walter forcing the dodgers appearance at the White House ended up exposing the entire LA group.

9/4 Sox vs. Twins 6:40PM CT
I'm shocked that Arizona is at 0 given they used Paul Sewald as closer for half the season. Same goes for the Cubs really...their bullpen sucks.

Exactly, I told his mom this and I told him this as well last night. He doesn’t cry from pain but he cried because he knows what this injury means. He feels he is letting his team down, ever since high school when he tore his ACL junior year with Brother Rice. He felt the same way. At some point, you have to worry about your own livelihood and career after college. No one needs three knee surgeries before they turn 21, especially if he wants to get into law enforcement which is what he wants to do. I told him he has likely already reached the pinnacle of his sports career anyways, being one of only two Brother Rice teams (1981 and 2025) to win a state championship in the school’s existence. And I have it all recorded like Lip and old classic White Sox games. 😉

Catchers, Catchers, Anywhere?
Just heard on the The Score that he’s still around on a taxi squad I think they called it

Catchers, Catchers, Anywhere?
I was going to make a joke about Romo being gone, but I think I will wait until Teel shows us he can stay healthy.

You can't control what happens to you, but you can control how you react to it. I have definitely seen a lot of stories about injuries being a journey into coaching, or even just sitting and watching a game that you played for all of your life, and learning it at a whole other level from the outside. And to be fully honest, the odds were near zero he was ever going to get paid to play football anyway, so this might be the worlds way of getting him on the track to whatever he is going to do as a professional for the rest of his life. No it isn't easy, but neither is life.- 9/4 Sox vs. Twins 6:40PM CT

Doggone, very sorry to hear that, WS2023. It's evident that you're super-proud of that guy, and rightfully so! I can tell you that my outlook on difficult things like this is influenced a lot by my faith, and my belief that God has a plan for each of us. Often it's hard for us to see how something could possibly fit into that plan, but we try to trust that, somehow, it's part of a bigger story that's still unfolding, page by page, out in front of us. I don't mean to sound preachy in that regard, as I'm not exactly what you'd call a super-religious guy, but I offer those thoughts for what they may be worth. Without going into details, I can relate, at least in part, to the frustration and disappointment you're both experiencing, as one of my sons, years ago, had his athletic dreams cut short by recurring knee injuries. He's now 43, and rooting for his younger cousin Sammy A. We all wish your son the very best going forward! It will all work out!Today

It isn't about the suffering, it is about what is being given up, at least for me.- “The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
Hey man, you go ahead and suffer and be proud lol- 9/4 Sox vs. Twins 6:40PM CT

Baffling trade at the time that's somehow even worse than I thought. Still like the Doyle deal.- “The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
And giving up everything that is great about being in the City of Chicago and spring/summer/fall baseball. I will suffer through a few crappy days for those great days.- “The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
Nah we are talking avoiding every rain out and also accommodating the possibility of the World Series being played in the park, and also availing the stadium for events like concerts. It’s not about being tough, it’s just common sense- “The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
I mean I get the extremes, but also, we are talking about needing a dome for something that happened once in the life of this stadium, and three times in the life of the former one for the weather to be affecting the World Series. There are going to be waaaaaaaaaay more good days and views lost, versus games helped. I would even get the argument if we lived in a more extreme place, but for what you give up, it's not a net gain IMO. I have sat through PLENTY of those horrible weather games in my life, and still wouldn't trade off.- Mike Vasil "The Wizard"
Magic Wand Night! Sox start kicking butts and taking names, it's Friday Night at the Rate.- Pablo Torre report on Magic Johnson/dodgers insurance woes
So Torre has been discussing how he’ll drop today his report on dodgers ownership mark Walter, but last week Hunterbrook media posted this article which he contributed to detailing how it ensnares magic johnson as well. It’s very dense but - I’d wonder if the mlb stops allowing this type of ownership structure. https://open.substack.com/pub/hntrbrk/p/new-magic-johnsons-life-insurer-backed?r=bscg&utm_medium=ios- What to do about Castillo for the rest of the season?
Send his ass back to Seattle- Mike Vasil "The Wizard"
It will be interesting to see how he is used in 2028 either as a starter or relief.- “The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
I agree the open-air ball parks are the best. But if we had the terrible summers of Az, Texas, and Florida sign me up for a dome.- 2026 NFL off season thread

lol…a bit premature to view Smith as 1/100th of the player of Tatis- What to do about Castillo for the rest of the season?
