You think a playoff pace is in character for a team that has averaged 108 losses a season for the last 3 years?

A good problem to have but there is an infield crunch that needs to be resolved in the not too distant future. I love the guy, but would not be surprised if Colson is the odd man out. A combination of options at SS and his value on the trade market, plus variance in his performance, make him the most likely to be dealt of guys on the current ML roster. Chase is a steady presence. Love both guys!

It goes with the territory. Now everyone is hating on Peters Braden any catchers Mune Colson Vargas...even Antonacci's defense and hitting against LP. Davis Martin and pretty much any non Burke starting pitcher...maybe a bit of appreciation for Kay. Will probably change yet again in 2-3 weeks, right?

It’s been sad to see him become a black hole at the plate. The adjustments made to pitchers approach while facing Peters have been overwhelming for him. Him getting back on track or Doyle unlocking untapped potential at the dish are story lines that are extremely important for our success down the stretch.

I hope Sandlin pitches well tonight. A solid innings 5 through 8 would be great. Thanks in advance.

Dominguez was actually pitching much better in recent weeks...outside the closer's role, which was never a good fit, just like it's not Brazoban's place, either. On the open market, he would probably get at least $6-8 million. You'd have to really be VERY kind to possibly imagine anyone giving Luis Castillo more than $13-15 million as a FA (if he didn't have a guaranteed contract for next year)...unless those $150-160 million payroll floors become a reality.

Regardless of anyone’s Will Venable stance, we’re just going to have to understand that he isn’t likely to change his style in the middle of a season. Like most things, he is likely to evolve slowly.

True, but he has had big seasons in the past. He did get busted for PEDs in the minors. Perhaps he snuck in cycle this season. 🤣

You think a month and a half of 140 win pace is less out of character than sub .500 ball for a team that has averaged 81 wins the past 4 seasons?

I actually think this could just be a ridiculously extreme case of “hitting is contagious”. And because of that, I think they cool down at the wrong time (playoff time).

Oh, I don’t even know if this guy would be worth it. There isn’t anyone out there. Jonah Heim was probably the only other decent catcher out there other than Bart that wouldn’t have cost much in a trade.

34 year old catchers, even when catching no longer don't all of a sudden turn in to all world. Its quite the opposite with wear and tear for catchers

Not having Attonacci in the daily lineup going forward (I know he needs a day off once in a while) is ludicrous. Lower octane begets lower results. Pulling out a spark plug is asinine.
