  1. Past hour
  2. And the starter of that game? Gavin Williams. Let's do it again.
  3. I think it's a positive and he's implying we win tonight because the last time we won there was exactly 2 years ago :)
  4. Today’s negative note of day brought to you by Lip Man!
  5. I have my eye on Franchel Crisostomo. His 17.69 ERA is sure to come down any day now.
  6. Today
  7. I don't know if there is anything to this, but I thought I heard Otani wasn't too happy with Mune in the WBC this spring. It is probably nothing but it did make the news.
  8. Can someone archive this wretched memory?
  9. Oh for sure - if we don’t extend him probto the Dodgers probably already have him on their big board for 28 - 34.

Our biggest recent international signing, Fernando Graterol, finally started playing this last week. 6'1, 17 year old catcher who signed for 1.6mil. went 2-3 with a BB and his first HR of the year. Cardozo 3-4 with a B. Between Graterol, Romero, Cardozo and Vielma, I think there's a decent chance that we get a major leaguer out of the group. Every year I'm used to look at the DSL box scores and our players there are complete trash. Feels different this year.
  11. If the Sox lose Mune to F/A and Colson to a Joe Crede back issue they would have numerous options. Gonzalez/ Bonemer/Roch at SS, Vargas /Bonemer at 3rd, and Vargas/Gonzales at 1st. Freddie Freeman and Mune will both be F/A in 2028. The Dodgers could be a player for Mune.
  12. Ron following the rules, 3 wins in a row to take the series confirmed!
  13. Besides burke, rest of rotations road stats are horrible.
  14. If Mune isn't extended before next years trade deadline, you may have to consider trading him depending on how the season is going. If he leaves, with a balky back, the safest place to put Colson might be first base by 2028 or 2029. At that point, Carlson or the 1-1 pick may be a consideration.
  15. Tonight's game factoid: The Sox have lost eight straight games in Cleveland going into tonight's contest. Their last win? July 3, 2024.
  16. Drivin' around the bases, maybe.
  17. I doubt that. He just changed levels. Unless he lost 7 mph, he's the same pitcher.
  18. I'm assuming a lot of the relief pitchers from last night won't be available this evening. Kay needs to have a solid start and pitch deep into it.
  19. SIX factoids today: July 3, 1922 - Sox pitcher Ted Blankenship made his big-league debut in a big way. Blankenship relieved starter Ferdinand “Ferdie” Schupp in the second inning of a game against Detroit. He’d pitch 12 innings before losing the game in the 14th giving up nine hits. The final score was 7-6. It took place at Comiskey Park and was the first game of a double header. The Sox won the second game 4-3. July 3, 1940 – It was a wild ninth inning punctuated by a franchise first. The White Sox came up with a seven-run final frame to put away the Tigers 12-7 in a game in Detroit with the highlight being a pinch-hit grand slam off the bat of Taft “Taffy” Wright. It was the first time the Sox had ever recorded a pinch-hit grand slam. Wright was batting for Eric McNair when he sent a Lynn Nelson pitch over the fence scoring Joe Kuhel, Julius “Moose” Solters and Larry Rosenthal ahead of him. For the year Wright would only hit five home runs! July 3, 1973 – In a 15-1 thrashing of Texas in the opener of a doubleheader Tony Muser tied a franchise record with five walks. The first baseman scored four times and added a single, meaning he reached base safely in all six of his trips to the plate from the two spot in the batting order. Muser joined Dick Allen, who was walked five times in a game nearly a year earlier, along with Sammy Strang, “Minnie” Minoso, Frank Thomas and Jim Thome in franchise annals. July 3, 1976 – It was the first morning start for a game in the history of Comiskey Park as the Sox hosted Texas. The first pitch was delivered at 10:30 AM. The Sox didn’t care much for the novelty as they lost 3-0 to Nellie Briles, getting only three hits. The Sox would play another morning game the following season in connection with McDonalds restaurants Egg McMuffin sandwiches, and hammer Cleveland 18-2. July 3, 1993 - Former Sox announcer and Hall of Fame pitcher Don Drysdale was found dead in his hotel room in Montreal of a heart condition. Drysdale, then a Dodgers announcer, worked for the Sox mostly on television from 1982 through 1987. His broadcast partner Ken “Hawk” Harrelson broke down on the air, while making the announcement during the Sox 9-6 loss to the Orioles at Comiskey Park that evening. July 3, 2012 – Sox pitcher Chris Sale earned his 10th win of the season as the White Sox ran out to a 19-0 lead and ended up crushing Texas, 19-2. An Ian Kinsler error at second base helped propel Chicago to a nine run fifth inning (seven unearned), capped by an A.J. Pierzynski three-run blast. Roy Oswalt started for the Rangers and surrendered 11 runs (nine earned) in a little less than five innings of work. Pierzynski, Alex Rios, Kevin Youkilis, and Alexei Ramírez all collected three hits apiece in the game.
  20. My man Ron will the self ban if the Sox lose! Love the confidence! This is what we needed to right the ship after last night’s loss!
  21. Time for a win. I am guaranteeing a win with this game thread. Go Sox!
  22. This team is going to be frustrating in its immaturity at times… but it’s going to ( hopefully ) learn rapidly and is also why they’re so exciting on other days. Go get em today, go for the series… hope for at worse a split. Get Mune back… draft strong… and hopefully get some arms before the deadline.
  23. Easy to have that feeling when you run into three outs on the bases, fail to bring RISP with no outs, and walk the universe… so yes, I’m sure you weren’t alone.
  24. Yeah, Mighty Mite, I couldn't get a very good read on whether the coach green-lighted Chase there or not. But I'm sure some learning took place.
  25. I get that feeling. Us Sox fans are used to that. But this team has shown time and again that they aren’t the same Sox teams of the past. They lose a tough one or two and we and we all expect that to be the downfall and then they surprise everyone and start winning again.
