  2. Depends on how severe MLB makes any penalties, how closely they watch, and if they actually enforce any big time penalties. My guess is lots of lip service but not a lot of actual teeth behind any enforcement. Also, if it's relatively easy and smooth to get approved as a vendor then you'll limit the number of back-alley deals. If its a bureaucratic nightmare (which it almost certainly will be), then you'll absolutely see tiny startups with interesting data/approaches take a shot with a team if offered.
  3. https://twinsdaily.com/news-rumors/minnesota-twins/what-josh-bells-signing-means-for-the-rest-of-the-twins-lineup-r19547/ From reading this, Trevor Larnach has now become the obvious trade candidate.
  4. Today
  5. Or maybe Getzy is planning to use that big new Japanese scout to pursue some big Japanese free agents…
  6. Twins now with 9 left handed OF 1B DH candidates and counting.... TEAM CURRENT ODDS OPENING ODDS Tigers +290 Guardians +225 Royals OTB +275 Twins OTB +260 White Sox OTB +15000
  7. His directorial run from Spinal tap to A Few Good Men is one for the ages. He also was instrumental in acquiring Shawshank redemption and getting it into Darabonts hands because he couldn’t direct it himself
  8. I just wonder if maybe the dope has learned his lesson from jumping out in front to sign Austin Slater before anyone else could get him... only to realize the rest of the market has made veterans who don't warrant big guarantees wait until later in the off-season to even be considered.
  9. Maybe. And maybe the tier that Getz is targeting is waiting for more valuable players to be taken off the board first, or for the teams closer to competing to decline them.
  10. Yeah, he had a big meal at Morton’s and is about to unleash hell.
  11. I just wonder if Getz has actually tried to sign some decent free agent and those free agents have declined to come here simply because they don't want to be playing for the White Sox.
  12. If there are actual penalties for this, and defined bylaws within the MLB organization, any third party vendor who circumvented those would be liable for the agreements just as much as the team would be. No smart or viable vendor would risk their company to do under-the-table deals with individual teams.
  13. And the Sox are apparently trying to move Lenyn. It checks out.
  14. Garcia will slot into RF for the Phillies per their beat writer. Despite citing the OF as a possible need for the Sox, Garcia was never going to be a realistic option for us given his free swinging ways. IMO, this only helps the value of Robert as mediocre corner OFs are getting decent sized salaries.
  15. At least we’re seeing some movement. I expect at least one free agent signing for the Sox this week.
  16. Don't you think Jerry is saving up for a big splash?
  17. Agnostic about the change myself. It might stifle some innovation but foster more competition and then innovation.
  18. They can still use another OF if they don’t want to start Castellanos.
