  2. Also, he kept himself in about the same shape as Leonardo DiCaprio this last season. Too many movie/event premieres with his g/f.
  3. fathom replied to fathom's topic in Pale Hose Talk
No interest in him given the fall off, the price it would take and then how much he will want in free agency.
  4. Today

  5. You can't trade for Skenes without knowing what happened to him in the second half...and how much was related to health/injury.
  6. Only four players on the Milwaukee roster are making more than $10 million this year: Yelich ($26 million), injured starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff ($22 million), No. 4 starter/bulk reliever Dustin May ($12 million) and reliever Antonio Senzatela ($12 million). By contract, the Dodgers had 15 such players. The majority of Brewers players are either on affordable arbitration contracts or are pre-arb players making somewhere around league minimum. Chourio would loom as a player due the kind of mega-deal the Brewers have never handed out, but they signed him to an eight-year, $82 million extension before his debut. That now ranks as one of the biggest bargains in baseball. yahoo.com/sports
  7. I am 100% rooting for Cleveland. Them winning makes the Sox season look better.
  8. f*** CLEVELAND!!!
  9. Imagine a rotation of: Skenes King Burke Taylor Hagen And having guys in the pen who can help ease in both Taylor and Hagen with dudes like Schultz, Martin, Kay, Sandlin, Vasil, and Thorpe. Our pitching staff would go from a liability to being absolutely fucking STACKED.
  10. Get on the horn Mr. Taylor!!!
  11. It’s on the right track IMO
  12. hi8is replied to fathom's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Likely starts with Grant Taylor getting the ear of Getz and Skenes. 🤣
  13. Hader D.Williams Peralta and Burnes were all key headline players....
  14. hi8is replied to fathom's topic in Pale Hose Talk
To be fair, you set yourself up for those punchlines.
  15. I really have no idea what you are saying other than perhaps people are paranoid about trades. The Sox record for trading for starters this century is pretty sordid. Last year around MLB, the results for the buyer of starters were overall negative. It's just a losing proposition. The Brewers trade a)average players b)short term players c)average prospects. Most of the trade suggestions I see for the Sox involve the opposite: trade for average players, trade for 2 year players and trade our best prospects.
  16. Ah yes Freddy Fastball. Logan Henderson is a very solid #2. After that, it gets dicier for MIL. Gasser has been fine so far. Woodruff and Kyle Harrison had their moments as well. But bullpen is the heart of their approach, along with MIZ/Henderson.
  17. https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/yankees-chance-signing-teruaki-sato-152316543.html Most articles so far pointing to teams like Blue Jays, Yankees, Mets. TB new owners want to make a splash...not sure yet about Kroenke/LAA and Broncos' group in Denver. Cubs have been mentioned a lot as well if Suzuki or Happ leaves.
  18. Looks like they're going bullpen game. Armstrong is opening for a lefty presumably.
  19. He would be in RF or 3B. Average to slightly below major league average at both positions.
  20. It looks like Target Field provides heating in areas like concessions, restrooms, and lounges. I don't know if anyone here has been there to confirm this. https://ballparkauthority.com/Facts.html. A number of ballparks are moving toward having more common space areas throughout the stadium. Perhaps those areas, if the Sox build a new stadium, could include radiant heating on colder days like you see at some outdoor restaurants. They definitely should spread out the suites more and almost certainly will. I've been to a dozen ballparks and many have the luxury suites blended in well throughout the park. I can't think of another ballpark that I've been to that has the luxury suites stacked on top of each other like at Rate Field such that it pushes just about everyone not in the lower deck up to the 500 level. IMO, the Club level area should be bigger. It's only 5 rows at Sox Park, so very limited number of seats. Yes, they're more expensive and not for taking a family to a game on a budget, but it's still within the price range for some regular fans. Anyone who thinks the Club Level at Rate Field is pretty good should see how much better that level is done at Busch Stadium and PNC Park .....and tickets to those Club Levels weren't as expensive as I've been listed at Rate Field.
  21. The pitcher Tampa is hoping to get them to the World Series tomorrow while the Brewers barely have one starting pitcher.
  22. I believe they are not going with Williams at all in hopes of game 7 but also trying to not overload him. Messick is looking cooked at this point.
  23. Yeah when I heard that I was like something doesn’t add up. And then I can’t imagine flying back from London to Philly is great either (or flying in general).
  24. Tampa Bay now gets 2 chances to clinch the AL pennant - both at home. But keep in mind that the Guardians have been a better team on the road than at home this year. .506 winning pct at home vs. .543 on the road. On the other hand, the Rays were much better at home (.679 at home vs. .531 on the road) this year.
  25. Vaughn is added to the WS roster.
  26. It’s absolutely insane that they felt sleeping was too dangerous for Hurts but playing was not
  27. Quin replied to fathom's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I feel like when Colson is hitting, the Sox win games. I think that's probably the biggest argument to keep him. It's not how Vargas goes, how Mune goes, etc. It's how Colson goes. It's almost like how TA was those last few years. I'm trying to fathom where a Skenes trade starts. If you're signing Sato, you're shipping out Bonemer as the headliner with Braden and Antonnaci now on the table as possible secondary pieces.
