As of early July 2026, Bergolla has started his running progression and is throwing and hitting normally, signaling positive recovery progress Yahoo+2. This suggests he could begin a minor league rehab assignment soon and eventually rejoin the Charlotte Knights lineup Yahoo+1. While he has experienced some lingering soreness, the White Sox organization appears optimistic about his return soxmachine.com.

Mason Miller Michael King 98% sure he can/will opt out for 2027 Fermin or Campusano (catchers) Cost? Bonemer, & Schultz OR Hagen Smith…maybe you luck out and get them down to two lesser prospects instead of those particular pitchers, like McDougal and Sandlin paired with Bonemer

Do not trade Bonemer for Mason Miller.

Would only make sense if they also got a starting pitcher and a catcher. Which also wouldn’t make sense.

It's very impactful, but you need to get the ball to him first. They really need a SP first and foremost to have any chance at a deep playoff run. We all remember how disastrous 2020 was in Oakland. Burke + SP + Martin is at least a playoff rotation you can feel somewhat comfortable/confident against the AL.

I could realistically buy a brand new Jeep, but my wife is going to make my life not worth living for about a year after. If I’m lucky

That acquisition doesn’t really fit his description of a “fat contract”. Liriano was in his last season with the Twins in 2012 and was an impending free agent. Liriano earned $5.5 million that season. Obviously they gave up too much talent in Eduardo Escobar, but the Sox only had to pick up $2.1 million of Liriano’s money for the remainder of the season. The Sox picked up $27 million remaining on Shields’ contract.

It worked well for James Shields. He still got paid the rest of his contract.

Was just thinking, what's going on with Bergolla? He hasn't played since he collided with Antonacci in April.

And it’s going to cost Bonemer…unless for some reason they believe in Schultz and Hagen, but that just digs an even deeper hole in the rotation. Guess you could also get Buehler Vasquez Giolito Waldron thrown in, but not sure if that really solves anything rotationally.- 7/21/2026 - Sox @ Rangers, 7:05pm CDT - Schultz v. Rocker
FLiriano for Eduardo Escobar, lol- 7/21/2026 - Sox @ Rangers, 7:05pm CDT - Schultz v. Rocker
Sounds like we need to pick up a fat contract of a former star on a losing team that's on the decline and hope he can pitch like days of old for a couple of months. It's worked in the past, right?😎- 7/21/2026 - Sox @ Rangers, 7:05pm CDT - Schultz v. Rocker
From Sox Machine's post game recap: *The White Sox have a three-series streak going of lots of runs in the first game (14, 12 and 10), and just about nothing in the second game (0, 1, 0).- 2026 Old Sock Drawer

From Merkin's story tonight: Entering Tuesday, White Sox catchers ranked last in the Majors with a .512 OPS. They're a bottom 10 unit in terms of home runs (9), but they're also last in average (.166) and on-base percentage (.243), according to MLB research.- Kyle Teel ankle injury
Don't know how old you are but Ron Karkovice comes to mind.- White Sox - Injury Tracker
High ankle sprains are very difficult to heal. Sometimes you need to have surgery to tie the tendons back together to promote healing. That's what happened to Tua when he was at Alabama. The Sox simply can't count on him for the rest of this season.- Kyle Teel ankle injury
You must’ve forgetten about Seby. 🤣- 7/21/2026 - Sox @ Rangers, 7:05pm CDT - Schultz v. Rocker
That’s two Beavis’s since Saturday. 3-2 looks pretty good with two shutouts in 5 games.- 7/21/2026 - Sox @ Rangers, 7:05pm CDT - Schultz v. Rocker
7th time this month they've scored one run or nothing in a game. It's now 10 times this month total they've scored three runs or less in a game.- 7/21/2026 - Sox @ Rangers, 7:05pm CDT - Schultz v. Rocker
I think it was last week someone wrote they wished the Sox could go on a run like Boston. I wrote that wasn't possible because the pitching isn't consistent enough. Tonight is an example of what I was talking about. Now I don't blame Schultz. He's been put in a tough spot, trying to learn on the job. That's not a big deal when you are 15 games out and nothing is on the line from a team standpoint. But something IS on the line, fighting for a potential divisional title and home field advantage in the playoffs. And the Sox have done extremely well at home. THAT's a big deal. It's not fair what the Sox are doing to him and its not fair to the other guys on the club. They need to get starting pitching help at the deadline and do so without sacrificing the future. It will be a real test for Getz and his staff.- 7/21/2026 - Sox @ Rangers, 7:05pm CDT - Schultz v. Rocker
I'm not saying you are wrong but you also have to consider the fan blowback if they do nothing at the deadline and potentially risk a playoff spot. The organizations credibility overall with the fan base is not good based on history especially recently. That's the horns of the dilemma they face right now. Now factor in there may not even be a season next year, anything can happen.- 7/21/2026 - Sox @ Rangers, 7:05pm CDT - Schultz v. Rocker
