Why do you keep trying to put Mason Adams in the bullpen? Do you you want him as a swingman? I like him, but it's a starter profile that is more about pitchability than stuff. If I'm looking for a leverage arm, McDougal and Hagen Smith are way in front of Mason Adams as far as stuff playing up out of the bullpen. (Vielma is the one I'm more worried about missing out on.)

I think Braden was always targeted for RF. Pereira was a flier acquisition but I don’t think he could handle CF either, and I don’t necessarily think the Sox considered him as an option there. However, Getz had to throw resources at a CF and DFA Pereira because his previous attempts at acquiring a CF have failed (see Zavala and Acuna). You don’t think Adams could have potentially helped the Sox bullpen right now?

Read some rave reviews about Bart's defense and receiving. I take them with a grain of salt but hope they are true. Quero really stabs at the ball and Romo isn't much better.

I guess my argument is that in reality Quero isn't better at anything except contact and still barely an improvement. Romo is only 24 (25 this month) and arguably was the higher touted prospect and a former first round pick. They both suck and yes, Quero should be given the regular ABs in AAA in the hopes he can turn it around. I suppose I just think Quero's defense is THAT bad that he can't be on this roster.

That’s just crazy and I don’t blame Getz for getting rid of him. Hill had a -0.1 bWAR with the Sox. However, I can blame Getz for paying a premium to acquire essentially the same player. That’s the rough part IMO.

He's been bad this year but there's def some talent there. The Sox clearly don't want Braden in CF or Perieria and probably not Acuna either. Not saying that's a great idea, he seems redundant with Acuna imo, but that's what they are thinking, a glove first platoon mate for Peters. Paying a "premium" is a Hawk like get on back there stretch. Nobody wanted Adams as anything more than waiver wire bait, Vielma 90/100 never makes any MLB impact. It's not a deal I'd have done, but it's a pretty big nothing burger unless Vielma turns into a MLB regular, and that is a long shot.
