Upcoming Free Agent Signing + Labor Contract Uncertainty
In years past, I got the impression more fans would blame greedy overpaid players for high prices at the ballpark, etc during labor disputes

Upcoming Free Agent Signing + Labor Contract Uncertainty
That's the history. They play brinkmanship games until it starts costing them real money and finally get serious. Meanwhile the millionaires work to get the fans on their side and the owners know fans will always want to support the players.

Upcoming Free Agent Signing + Labor Contract Uncertainty
I guess what he meant was: take on an expiring contract along with something interesting. At least that's what I thought he meant by tanking teams. But then teams could also just sign guys to high AAV 1-2 year deals and try to flip them later.

What's next?...
I've read where is speculation that Colson Montgomery could be traded this off season. I can't help but wonder what the White Sox would get in return for him. I couldn't imagine receiving any real good player for him. If they're not going to get anything decent for him maybe its just best that he stays here.

What's next?...
Some people like dorks as their broadcasters. To each their own. Doesn't change the fact that Bennetti is, in fact, a dork.

There won't be a floor without a cap though I wouldn't think. I'm not convinced that the small market owners would be interested in a floor.

WQith a floor, teams that don't spend aren't going to spend "stupidly" (taking on Beni). They'll spend as smart as they can, while hitting the floor, so you'd absolutely see additional movement. I certainly think it would make a huge difference (depending on floor amount).

I think the owners probably cave. If they don't though, oh yeah. It's going to be ugly.

So now you're on the side of them missing out on games? Serious negotiations not starting in March means games will be lost.

What's next?...
This is true! But it was also celebrated! People loved it! They were laughing with him...

I really don't think a floor helps all that much. The tanking teams would just take on contracts like Benintendi etc and still be bad. If MLB insists on the cap/floor proposal, it's going to be awhile. I don't think any serious negotiations even occur until March at the earliest. All of the ownership proposals to date have been tied to a salary cap system and that's a total non-starter for the MLBPA. The sides essentially haven't even talked.

What's next?...
I don't need to see/hear obscure Three's Company references while you stuff a churro down your gullet. Just scream into the mic at Mark Wegner or Joe West, and call the game like an adult. Good enough explanation for you? The Tigers own broadcast called him a geek like 3 weeks ago. He's a geek/nerd/dork. https://www.mlb.com/amp/news/jason-benetti-history-reference-perfect-cut-camera-crew.html

What's next?...
Question to consider for offseason spending: If it’s between pumping more money into ops/analytics to “fuel the foundation” or spending more on FA’s, which would you prefer? Ideally it’s both, but, you know.

Fire Derek Shomon
Problematically, there is more than offense to a baseball team, and the amount of time their window is open. Ryan Fuller is the simplistic retort. The Orioles squandered that time their window was open by not making decisive moves to keep it open. If the Sox don't do a lot of work around their pitching staff (sound familiar so far?) and so far their pitching development has been a massive failure on the front end. All of the teams top pitching prospects have failed at being to stick as a starter so far. Obviously some of these guys will go back and try again, but Taylor seems to be done as a starter, and the whisper campaign around Hagen has already started. Shane Smith completely bombed out this year, Schultz and McDougal both didn't contribute anything to the rotation. The Sox need a LOT of work on the starting pitching if they want to be back here next year.

What's next?...
To each his own...but I love Benetti! Miss him! In fact I have watched a lot of Tigers games the past two seasons simply because he calls their games. In my view...no one better. Different styles are good...the Padres booth is great...Benetti is great! The White Sox booth...ugh...

What's next?...
And still no explanation.

I just think stuff like that is difficult to correct in season. How has the Orioles offense been since they fired Fuller? I love what the Sox are doing throughout the org on the hitting side. They hit 211 homers, led the AL in walks and runs scored. I'm glad that Getz isn't making any changes.

2027 Rotation
The Angels wanted Bonemer at the deadline and that was a non-starter. I think it might be a new GM in Anaheim though. I'd probably include Braden Montgomery I know that Taylor and his representatives want the opportunity to start. I don't know how long it'll be harmonious if this is the role.

What's next?...
This has been said so so so many times and I’ve never heard one explanation as to what it actually means. Is he a dork because he wears glasses? Because he makes references?

Let's look at the bright side - the Sox are going to have an absolute STAR in Caleb Bonemer

Maybe its just because I was a kid. Maybe its just because the Sox won the World Series. But does it feel like peak modern baseball was that 2003-2005 era? For some reason the games just felt massive. Bartman game. Red Sox Yankees go 7 games in consecutive ALCS. That rivalry was at an absolute peak. And then of course the magical 2005. Those 3 years will always be peak nostalgic baseball for me.

Upcoming Free Agent Signing + Labor Contract Uncertainty
More higher $$$ journeyman deals for the Leury Garcias, Jake Bauers and Andrew Vaughns of the world along with the shifting of more and more resources to buy out FA years from younger and younger players like we're already seeing with the Brewers (Chourio/Pratt & Lara before they even debuted)

Ah, true

Upcoming Free Agent Signing + Labor Contract Uncertainty
I could see the highest payroll teams with the best talent at declining rates of spending and the lowest payroll teams full of higher paid than today, less talented players with no change to the competitive balance.
