Nothing says successful Trade Deadline quite like grabbing Brenton Doyle and calling it a day. I doubt its done, though.

He was never a high enough ceiling guy to hold a 40 man roster spot for until the 60 day opened up.

This isn’t certainly one of those moves though - since he is controlled through 29 with options remaining. And we have proven already we can win with Peters being an offensive hole providing stellar D. Maybe platooning him with Peters helps them both this year and even more so in years to come.

Oh 100% agree, but I feel like that’s more applicable in the offseason than for deadline deals. I’m all for buying low on guys, but prefer there is an offseason, spring training, or early regular season period to work on adjustments.

There goes my dream of them trading for Robert, mostly cause it'd be funny.
