  2. No love for Sosa?
  3. I am guessing that Jerry's spending depends a lot on how much in concessions that Jerry and the Hardliners extract from the players. The worse it is, the more likely he is to spend before spending picks up again.
  4. I’m also guessing the spending will be around $30 million, maybe $35 million at the most.
  5. Not sure I understand this comment. They do play him at shortstop — Meidroth has played shortstop 16 times this season, and he has graded out fine if not slightly above average. I've thought he looks good there as well
  6. #1 is more realistic given the parameters JR insist on forcing his organization to abide by regarding pitchers. It is what it is - Kenny Williams.
  7. Well that's what happens when you all of a sudden become a somebody when you were a nobody for your whole career. It's not quite believable because they don't really believe that growth isn't always linear and the Sox can't win a transaction with Tampa Bay. He just can't be this good. He'll come down to earth eventually. I saw that today. People just can't enjoy a good thing for what it is. A crash is inevitable if not with Peters just apply it to the whole team. Trust the usual numbers not the anomaly.
  8. Acuna's value is that he is a legit MLB SS. Nobody else on the roster other than Colson is. They clearly don't want to play Meidroth there, and for good reason.
  9. I'm sure he did OK but lol that was a play a little leaguer makes 9/10.
  10. I didn't want Suarez until I saw "Acuna". Now I do - Suarez could back up Vargas at third and DH. Lineup against lefties would be: Grichuk LF Doyle CF Montgomery RF Vargas/Suarez 3B Meidroth/Colson SS Antonacci/Meidroth 2B Murakami/Vargas 1B Suarez/Murakami/Grichuk DH Who cares they both suck C
  11. Acuna cannot be sent down. You gotta DFA him and if he gets claimed he gone. Which, admittedly, some won’t mind
  12. I have to be honest, and I know Suarez isn't a like for like but I'd consider sending acuna down to make space for him. I don't know what acuna's value is right now beyond pinch running. And O'Doyle can do that. Would rather have a guy with power off the bench.
  13. Great guy in the clubhouse. Is loved everywhere he went.
  14. I’m going slightly less than you… 1.) Older former TOR starter (along the lines of a Castillo, Ray, etc. that will demand a decent AAV but only for a couple years.) 2.) Newcomb or replacement 3.) Grichuk or replacement
  15. nvm .199 since ASB feels more like .099 but he's too hard a worker not to come out of this somehow/sometime soon
  16. This is a guy who could absolutely blow up in a playoff run in a way few RH hitters on our current roster is likely to do. He had a .956 OPS in the ALCS last year.
  17. If we could do other sports it would be Stan Mikita.
  18. why are the Sox doing a "finance bro" night? is the idea to demolish the stadium that night?
  19. Hes a DH/3B. Would probably platoon. I think he does provide experience and the power numbers are still ok. More importantly, he has a .982 ops at Comiskey. 2 home runs here this year. I think he's likely looking for one final shot at a World Series so putting him in a pennant race will probably entice him.
  20. This reminds me of the Doyle and Castillo moves in that you are partially putting playoff hopes on fixing a guy in a very short period of time. I get why you would avoid him, plus immortal question... Where would he play?
  21. Just so we're on the same page, this is a dude who hit 49 home runs just last season. Yes, he's having a historically subpar season so far but Randal Grichuk he ain't. Sounds like it may be a moot point, though.
