I don't get that kind of love for Billy Carlson, since he hasn't played a game yet.

Moncada back to Angels. 1 year/4 million
Dick Allen replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
First ballot unanimous. -
With all the moves the Mets have done recently, I wonder why they didn't resign Alonso
-
If the Agents ever got together and started their own Hall of Fame, Moncada's agent would be inducted.
-
Last year Moncada got some early big hits off us.
-
I was watching a Future Sox podcast yesterday and they mentioned Moncada going to the Angels. Danny Miller got off a great line mimicking the Lion King, "AcunaMoncada".

It’s admittedly weird to hate someone you have never have met, but my distaste for him is truly immense. Like I hate the dude with a passion for destroying two of my three favorite sports teams. He pretty much lacks any of the qualities I look for in an owner and we have been stuck with himself forever. And he’s so fucking stubborn and refuses to relinquish control because it’s somehow fun overseeing hilariously bad organizations. The only saving grace is that Ishbia is going be very different with a modern perspective on things and that sweet, sweet private equity money.

It makes me so mad when I think about it. He talks about how much he enjoys it and stuff and the asshole doesn’t do s%*#. Spends less than he did 25 years ago.

I don't understand why Jerry wants to be the managing partner if he can't afford to play the game. Estate taxes are not driven by the title you have. Taxes are driven by the value of the holding at his time of death.

OD 26 Man Roster Projection
Chicago White Sox replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If you look at the above, I’m expecting two veteran additions via free agency. I’d assume the SP one to be far more impactful than the OF one. I also see a strong likelihood we end up moving Lee and either Sosa or Mead. For now, I have Sosa for that reserve IF spot, but I do feel like Chris is out there trying to sell him to other clubs. Should be a decent amount of activity for us ahead of Spring Training. -
OD 26 Man Roster Projection
Chicago White Sox replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Time to bump this thread. Here are my new projections for the OD roster: Lineup: 1B: Murakami (L) 2B: Meidroth (R) SS: C. Montgomery (L) 3B: Vargas (R) LF: Baldwin (S) CF: Acuña (R) RF: <Veteran> (L) DH: Benintendi (L) CA: Teel (L) Bench: BC: Quero (S) IF: Sosa (R) OF: Pereira (R) OF: Kelenic (L) Rotation: <Veteran> (R) Shane Smith (R) Davis Martin (R) Anthony Kay (L) Sean Burke (R) Bullpen: CL: Leasure (R) SU: Taylor (R) SU: Vasil (R) MR: Newcomb (L) MR: Gilbert (L) MR: Gonzalez (R) MR: Alberto (R) LR: Paez (R) DFA or Returned: BC: Lee (R) IF: Mead (R) IF: Ramos (R) OF: Hill (R) RP: Hudson (L) -
The money has been allocated to Murakami. Poof, money spent!

Yeah, I don’t see why he would set himself up like that unless they were intent on following through.
-
It would be a very weird thing he didn’t have to directly lie about.

Moncada back to Angels. 1 year/4 million

Thank heaven -
Gosh, he's really a little fuker.

Will the Bears be heavy favorites to win the division? Any NFL experts want to predict how many playoff appearances in the next 10 years?
-
Acuna looked hitterish/homerish in that clip of the four home run game. He could look good in the lineup if he plays the outfield. If Getz acquires two good pitchers now with the savings maybe the Sox can go .500 or so. Use that Robert money to sign two veteran pitchers, no more prospects, have plenty of them.
-
I like all these moves (outside of Acuna) in isolation. But we now have a ton of guys with no options, so these type of moves create some challenges from a roster construction perspective.
-
Griffin Canning Michael Conforto 1 or 2 relievers
-
So Getz says we are going to be active now in FA with the 20M savings. Curious what low level vets we bring in this time
-
Acuña could very well be more productive than Robert next year on his own. Then you have the fact just last year Pereira hit 21 dongs in 297 abs at AAA, the year following being ranked 67. Along with Murray for Steven Wilson and a mid-season dumpster dive. Not sure what kind of return you were expecting there. Not sure how Mead for a mid-season dumpster dive signing is a bad move either. That is literally turning nothing into something.
-
Mid-season list he must have jumped to #69 in 2023. Baseball America’s player page doesn’t list a 2024 ranking for him.
-
FWIW, Kelenic somehow hit worse than Acuna did in AAA if that’s possible and doesn’t offer the defensive & base-running value that the latter does. I still think he should have to prove that any swing changes him and Fuller make this offseason actually work in AAA before he gets a major league shot.
