November 7, 20178 yr QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 7, 2017 -> 03:04 PM) You'd think if he was ok, he'd tweet or something? Doesn't look good. Yeah, unless he's quiet out of respect for the person who did die until it's announced?

November 7, 20178 yr MLBVerified account @MLB 1m1 minute ago We are saddened by the tragic news that Roy Halladay, 2-time Cy Young Award winner & 8-time All-Star, has died in a plane crash. He was 40.
November 7, 20178 yr Sucks man. I remember every time the Sox went to Toronto dreading to face Doc. Had one of the best back door Curves I've seen.
November 7, 20178 yr That's horrible news. Roy Halladay was one of my favorite players, he was just so damn good. I would try to mimic his pitching motion when I played wiffleball. RIP. Edited November 7, 20178 yr by smalls2598
November 7, 20178 yr Reading his Twitter is just heartbreaking. He was so excited about flying, man this is so sad. Damn it. RIP Doc.
November 7, 20178 yr QUOTE (Soxnfins @ Nov 7, 2017 -> 03:29 PM) Sucks man. I remember every time the Sox went to Toronto dreading to face Doc. Same here. Didn't like it when the Sox would have to face him but he was still fun to watch. Really feel for his family. RIP Roy.

November 8, 20178 yr Was one of those dudes you were happy to see finally get the recognition for how good he was. This sucks.
November 8, 20178 yr Man - I just saw this headline and it instantly hit me. Very sad. It's like every off season we get at least one tragic death. What the f***.
November 8, 20178 yr Greatest baseball player to come out of Colorado. Graduated from suburban Denver high school in 1995, #17 overall pick. Lots of stories were written there about Halladay over the years, all of them complimentary. He would have looked great in a Rocky uniform. Future Hall of Famer.
November 8, 20178 yr RIP Roy, if he pitched in NY or BOS he would have been a straight legend. Seems like a disproportionate amount of celebrities die in plane crashes, or maybe they are just more memorable.

Seems like a disproportionate amount of celebrities die in plane crashes, or maybe they are just more memorable. I think celebrities are just way more likely to fly small planes, which crash more often. Halladay was flying in the first 2018 model of this Icon plane, I wonder what happened with such a new model.
