Fisk's release was handles horribly by the White Sox front office, but I think his decision to wear a Red Sox cap was based more on the fact that he was from New Hampshire and grew up a Boston Red Sox fan. I thought I read somewhere that he wasn't happy with the Red Sox organization either and Joked that he was going to wear his little league hat to the Hall of Fame ceremony

My Dad was a Sox fan although everyone else I knew growing up in NW Indiana were Cubs fans. Played catch with the guys down the street and argue which team was better. They could watch their team on crystal clear channel 9 while I watched the Sox on fuzzy uhf channel 44. When my Dad took me to my first game in 1971 I half expected to see the team playing in a fuzzy haze.

And I assume getting paid alot less

I grew up in Lake Station (East Gary) In. and everyone seemed to be Cubs fans except for my father and I. When we played baseball at the park I was the only one wearing a Sox hat. A few years ago I went to a restaurant in Miller Beach and the waitress told me how nice to see someone wearing a Sox jacket as she was overwelmed with Cubs fans.

I understand and appreciate your passion for White Sox baseball brother. As I has stated in an earlier post I had joined Soxtalk because I needed a place to share my frustrations with this team. Misery loves company and as a Sox fan for 52 years I have had my share. My first year as a fan the team had a 56w 106L season so I should have known what I was getting into. Like you say Always hope.

I am mad and depressed as it is and this topic isn't helping matters. The revenues from some of these sun belt states are not that great. Do you think Reinsdorf regrets that the White Sox didnt move to St. Pete? The Rays and the Marlins arent doing that well financially as the White Sox. Didnt anybody notice the White Sox World Series parade in 2005.? If the White Sox can play championship style baseball for a few years then they will dominate the Chicago market. Let the Pittsburgh Pirates or Detroit Tigers move to Charlotte or Portland.
