Hey, our "Personal Attacks Anonymous" meeting you suggested for me starts in ten minutes. You want to join? Bring smokes and cokes.
-
My wife would walk in during the Hawk & Wimpy heyday, and call them completely inane.
-
Grifol's like a bank robbery turned hostage situation. Yoan down because there was no mayo on the sandwiches. Then he intentionally walks Will Brennan because Chris Getz hesitated when answering about the helicopter. Grifol's just insane, at this point.

I'm not sure why Tanner Banks couldn't have pitched the next inning and faced the 10 lefties who were lined up.
-
I don't agree, but my wife came in when his inning started and said, "that is not a young man".
-
I don't know. Maybe he's saying thank you for finally being civil. Moncada and Kopech might just clear 20 WAR. I may have jumped out too far on this one. One of them could bust out and give you 20 War in 6 years. Maybe between the other two and Wilson, if everything breaks right, you get another 20-25.
-
C'mon, Mark. You know what I'm saying. This is what they've spent their entire lives preparing to do. Of course nobody's going to have to study for a real estate license this winter.
-
The return for Cease will probably churn out triple the production of the return for Sale. That, and I think that's the model for trades, going forward, in the Getz era. If you're getting a top twenty prospect in the game, you're buying high on a guy you don't have to develop, rather than a guy who needs a little correction, and he's top 20 with a bullet.
-
You can't be moved to the 60-day unless you have a full 40-man, and you're trying to add somebody to the roster. They could put Yoan on the 60-day if they were going to add somebody who isn't in the 40-man, like Mendick or whatnot.
-
I'm so ready for this. I mean, Eloy, Robert and Yoan must be suicidal at this point. This is their lives. But if a bunch of knuckleheads on a chat board could come up with "work with a baseball trainer and do yoga" in an afternoon, why can't a guy whose multi-million dollar paydays depend on it come up with that?
-
Of course I'm not joking. 3 years would be year 4 of a rebuild. Any team in any situation could turn things around in 5 years, and almost be there in 4. I'm guessing Chris Getz has more baseball smarts than Hahn did, and is not as impulsive as KW. I'm not saying he's the savior, or anything, but he's Michigan business school, too, right? So he's not a dummy. He might have some weird notions, or whatnot, but he starts out with a couple of tradable stars, a couple good prospects - he's already on his way.
-
Kevin Hart just tried to have a foot race with a retired RB a couple months ago, tore his abductor muscle, and wound up in a wheel chair. I contend these guys are such specimens their bodies can't support what their muscles can do.
-
He'd still be trying to hit his way out of AA. But I suppose we could indulge ourselves for another year while Yoan hits the 60-day.
-
I wonder who made the decision for Yoan to not get an off day, or a brief IL stint. I'm not really in the "everybody should be fired" mindset, but you could tell he was hurt in the game before.

Sure, but when that production begins to look anything like the .238/.307/.483 and .283/.328/.406 batting lines he put up in AAA over the last 2 years over 446 and 302 PAs, that starts to take some of the fantasizing out of it, and you can begin to see a productive major leaguer. Will the league adjust to him? Yes, it will. Will he hit a slump and look like s%*#? Yes he will. I don't watch baseball to ignore the fun stuff and just look for things to be dour about. I watch it for the Yermin Mercedes start, and whatever run Garret Crochet goes on this year.
-
They're already on their way there. They just slapped together a ragtag pitching staff, and they've kept them in 10 of 11 games, so far. I think they already have a young core of Fletcher, Sosa, Colas and Lee who could at least start and be somewhere between replacement and average ML players. Add Monty, Quero, Ramos and Zavala to that, and you're already competing in this weak division.
-
My point is that nobody needs to temper their excitement. It's a rebuild. Enjoy watching the young guys get their shot and see who makes it. Hell, if everybody gets to dream on Popeye Rodriguez after zero sample size, why can't we dream on Korey Lee after a small sample size? I'd put up 2011 Adam Dunn for worst of all time. Fletcher's a rookie who had a slow start for 5 games, and needs to calm down in the field. I think he'll be fine.
-
Yes.
-
Why does excitement need to be tempered? Once one steps back and actually takes a look at some of the talent on the field, the path forward becomes clearer. It's almost like the entire team sat back and waited for Eloy, Yoan and Robert to put them on their backs. Now they all have to be the baseball players they're supposed to be.
-
U funny. I think you should look up the definitions of "hyped" and "fluffed". I said the bullpen and rotation could be good. So far, they have not embarrassed. I think I also said Fletcher had a ceiling of a 3-bWAR RF, and I haven't seen anything to really disprove that. Understanding a GM's stated reasoning, and waiting for it to play out isn't "complete support". The fact that you can't separate the two really gives you no room to lecture others.
-
I think the only people I've ignored are two Baltimore guys, and the Jerks dicks guy who keeps arguing that Earth owes rapists and abusers an apology for not liking rapists and abusers. Vastly improved my SoxTalk experience.
-
Who said it did? Are you so brain damaged that you have constant White Sox arguments going on in your head and you can't separate them? Fletcher's 5 hits in the last 5 games do make his own case better. You do understand that posting evidence (key word) of a pitcher not "immediately jumping into" the mid-90s has nothing to do with a hitter's stats from another organization, right?
-
Again, it's like you're pointing to the one fact that you've been able to wrap your head around for the last 4 months, and you're pretending it proves everything you've spouted all year. These guys are under contract. Getz had little else to do but assume he had a DH, 3B and CF relatively covered at least through the first 11 games. He certainly wasn't going to eat Eloy and Yoan's contracts and cut them because some dude on the internet would bray once they got injured. Not sure where you're going with this. There was no trade market for Yoan or Eloy.
