  1. Oh, for those days of February where we threatened that heads should roll if Baldwin wasn't a starting OF.
  2. I would be surprised if Braden gets called up this season.
  3. Dominic Fletcher decided to try his luck in another organization. Had he stayed, he'd probably be looking at a solid month or two of starting.
  4. Maybe it is. But MLB wants to sell jerseys. If there's an anti-Chinese sentiment among Japanese consumers, MLB should learn that and avoid it. It's not the job of the consumer to get over themselves, change their feelings and just buy what's on the shelf. American baseball fans screamed when Fanatics changed the size of the name lettering on the backs of the jerseys. Were I in the market for a jersey that season, I might have held onto my $150 until they corrected that oversight.
  5. He sure blew out them candles...
  6. I was joking earlier, but looking it up, Fedde sidestepped the first 4 hitters in the first. He finished his night only seeing those 4 two times. He also finished his night against the bottom of the order. That's all what Venable said he wanted to happen. Fedde went 6 strong. Please don't learn to boil everything down to 2 arguments. You're one of the bright spots here.
  7. Fedde getting it done. The opener worked as intended. Now we just need some runs.
  8. Yeah, he makes the other teams too angry by stealing bases.
  9. Instead of players spending time with the Trajekt machine, Getz probably had players researching the most insulting jersey font so he could make the biggest mistake.
  10. They're only throwing him one inning so they can use him the next day.

  12. They want to get Taylor innings, one way or the other, so his innings aren't wasted. Venable has already explained his reasoning - avoid a third time through the order penalty for the top of the order - (in theory, the best hitters in the lineup). When the actual starter's day is winding up, the end of their day will wind up against the bottom of the order, again, in theory. I understand that you want to use the better pitchers in higher leverage situations, but they have 7 other guys on the team who should be able to handle those situations. For people to be saying that it makes absolutely no sense or argue that there is only one way to think about this is silly. Taylor might have the best "stuff" right now, but he's pretty inexperienced in high leverage situations. He wasn't exactly lights out last season. So as they plan to move him to starting, this helps him learn to prepare to start, while still getting him innings. And really, everyone complained that it was a waste to use Taylor in relief. Now it's a waste to use him as an opener. I'm sure when he moves to the rotation next year, that will be a waste, too.
  13. That's all on Fanatics, right? White Sox employees aren't cutting the material for the names.
  14. White Sox knocking players off rosters, left and right:
  15. Just the kind of guy the White Sox traditionally fix right up with one hit over 7 innings. Man, some of these rotations of teams that are supposed to be competitive look haggard so early.

  17. We seem to be catching the Orioles in a slow start. Let's keep that going. Blue Jays look ragged after this weekend.
  18. MLBTR chat with Jays' fan moderator: JotCast | MLBTR Live Chat | 4/5/2026 Robbie Baseball 9:28 I know it’s only 9 games into the season, but I’m worried about the Blue Jays - especially based on the teams they’ve played so far. They were something like 2 for 20 this weekend with runners in scoring position. What can they do to turn things around? Mark P 9:31 It's not great when a slow start coincides with my worries about a team --- i.e. that the Jays had no lefty bullpen depth, and they were relying a lot of hitters replicating their 2025 breakouts. When you have mulitple players who are completely ice cold (Barger, Varsho, Springer, Kirk), it's hard to score runs or string any kind of rally together. Not pressing the panic button after nine games or anything, but losing four in a row during this allegedly soft part of the schedule isn't good.
  19. Man, these guys are just snakebit.
  20. Baltimore really hasn't been setting the world on fire with their start to the season. I hope the Sox can keep feeling the momentum.
  21. Tied for the 6th best record in the AL
