  1. Dunning can lay his claim to the No. 3 job tomorrow with another good outing. Cease is a 4 until the command improves. ReyLo is a almost a lost cause.
  2. They are almost certainly going to the playoffs given their division, but yes i doubt they can get to the WS with vastly superior teams out there in the NL like LAD, SD, ATL.
  3. I expect them to sign Joc for next season. Until then, they will have to make due with what they have.
  4. Depends on the compensation. I would not give up any of Vaughn, Kopech, Dunning or Madrigal. Stiever is OK as the main piece but the additions cannot be Dahlquist, Thompson, Crochet or Kelley (I dont think the latter two can be traded right now anyway). We need those guys the next few years to fill in for injuries and/or development issues with others.
  5. Agreed. In this environment with owners planning to rein in spending (whether it be due to true "losses" or simply using covid as a pretext to cut payroll), cost controlled high end young talent is gold. Hahn should be very hesitant to destroy what he has spent a lot of time meticulously building.
  6. He'd be perfect if he was left handed, but he's still pretty darn good.
  7. It has to be BS cause Vaughn is off limits.
  8. Do we need multiple soft tossing lefties? Better NOT be for Dunning.
  9. Hahn would be no better than KW if he moved Dunning. Ugh
  10. No Vaughn, Kopech, Dunning, Cease or Madrigal. I'm ok with Stiever as a headliner but only for a decent cost controlled SP.
  11. I would be royally pissed if that happens.
  12. Not necessarily. While the main reason he was let go was because he sucked, there was also an option that would have vested if he got a certain number of innings IIRC so there was also a financial (savjngs) component to the decision as well.
  13. Yeah, there's no such thing as a "sunk cost" here, especially insofar as JR is concerned.
  14. Rabbit....hearing anything on the trade front?
  15. Yes he would be a good fit. And I think under contract for 2 more years I think someone stated.
  16. Cishek suggested earlier the focus was going to be on pitching in terms of the trade market. Perhaps they feel they can get Pederson cheap on a 1 year prove it deal after this year and with JR breathing down RHs neck on money issues they may have decided the only way they can realistically add a good cost controlled SP is via trade right now, not the offseason and no doubt JR will require him to show offsetting salary dumps after the season to offset the salary (ie EE, Cishek, Gonzo).
  17. I would get Pederson on a 1 year deal if possible and let him compete with Rutherford and Gonzalez. We need a proven LHH with power and OBP (besides Moncada and Grandal). If you look at his XSLG and XWOBA its actually pretty solid even though he has struggled. Ditch EE, Cishek, Gonzalez which will shave close to 20m off next years payroll. If Bauer wants 1 year deals we can easily do that.
  18. Yep so consistent....really glad to have him.
  19. Looks like he grimaced a little getting to 2nd
  20. I'd bring up Rutherford pretty soon for Mazara as he seems to be impressing in Schaumberg. It can't be any worse than what we have seen at least.
  21. Surprised Eloy is in LF instead of DH or a day off.
  22. I wonder if they will give Moncada a day off today so he can have two rest days in a row. I assume the same will happen for Eloy.
