I think we could be a solid competitive club as soon as 2025 (assuming we get to spend then), but we gotta really nail this trade and some of the young kids in AA need to be legit MLB players (CM. Ramos, Quero).

I think BAL will get involved in any situation where they get a quality MLB (or very close to MLB) cost controlled SP if all it involves is giving up duplicative positional talent that isn't deemed untouchable. I'd be fine getting Kjerstad and one of ATLs SP prospects.

If they are gonna do a 3 way deal, why not do that with BAL and ATL? BAL is heavy on duplicative position talent but really needs cost controlled pitching. ATL has two good close to MLB pitchers and nothing else. CWS needs a LHS and maybe also a SP. Cease to ATL, one of those two pitchers to Chicago, one of them to BAL and Kjerstad to CWS. So we get a RF savage and one of ATLs pitchers.

Is it true that no one will touch Santos cause of his injury?

Isn't he still broken tho? He had a 1.3 fwar season last year and projected for the same going forward. I'd like to think CWS FO would prefer either LAD or BAL bats to Kelenic. They have only one real asset to trade, they need to hit a HR here, not get reclamation projects in this trade.

Thanks for the clarification. Anything new on the BAL front? IMO, Getz shouldn't get hung up on Cowser. Hopefully, if we accept Kjerstad as the top piece BAL will be more reasonable on enhancing other pieces. I really really hope ATL isn't the trading partner that will be fucking horrible. Give us some good morsels to chew on bro...

I agree that Getz seems he would strongly prefer a double plus glove at keystone or SS, so if macsandz report is correct, perhaps they think his bat is well below 50/50 and basically can't be anything other than 9 hitter. That's the only other thing that could explain it.

Most were thinking Ortiz but it seems they prefer Norby. Perhaps they don't want to admit CM will not stick at SS. BAL isn't going to include Mayo or basallo, so who would be your second piece if they didn't want Ortiz for whatever reason?

According to the report we received the issue was Cowser. Most people here would prefer Kjerstad anyway. I realize Getz likes well rounded players but Kjerstad has the arm for RF and someone in the lineup has to provide legit LHS at cleanup and also to protect Robert, as opposed to limp dick players masquerading as a LHS (*cough..Beni, yoyo..cough*). IMO, if it came down to Kjerstad and Norby and an semi ok third piece most people here would probably take that than ATLs 2 SPs and Grissom and most would prolly prefer that to Busch and Stone too.

No it isn't. It's time to prioritize what we actually need and not add more mediocre RH players. I'm sick of that s%*#. Enough is enough.

If it's really robust, there is NO EXCUSE to accept 2 pitchers and another RH loser in Grissom. None. Baltimore all the way.

We have done nothing but trade for pitching. You got 4 pitchers. Im not saying they are great or anything but those are the guys you got...so now develop them. We need position players now. We need 2 plug and play players at RF and 2B. To me, it's hard to say we need to get SIX pitchers before we get even one legit position players. Get some fucking savage bats already I've been screaming about this forever.

I highly doubt those two pitchers and Grissom will be the best overall offer. If BAL wants to hold onto Cowser fine, give me Hjerstad, Norby/Ortiz and Hall/Povich/Bradfield. I'll take that any day over Atlanta. We already got alot of pitching, we need position players.

I think if we get Busch from LAD, Vaughn could then be shipped out and if we get Kjerstad from BAL, Colas will likewise be used as a trade chip. I wouldn't give up on Colas yet, tho. The rookie year is often a difficult adjustment, I'm excited to see what he can bring in Year 2. He's pretty much the only LH with legit raw power on the roster I wouldnt cut bait with him unless it was a really good offer. It's totally possible Kjerstad AND Colas are both going to be starting corner OFers for the club for a long time, especially if Beni has a strong first half once his wrist is fully healthy and they are able to move him.

Why not? If Bradfield was the 3rd piece in a BAL deal why would we refuse that if we liked the top two pieces? If Teel was paired with Mayer or Anthony, why would we say no? You can't cry over spilled milk. Hahn sacrificed the pick in a last ditch attempt to get an allegedly close to MLB position player with an allegedly high floor so he could fill a roster spot on the cheap to save himself, and it didn't work. He didn't save himself and the player turned out not to be anywhere close to MLB ready, what does that have to do with Getz evaluating a trade package now? It's over. We choked or in Teel's case, Boston stepped on our dick with work boots. I would absolutely love to still have Kyle Teel. The draft is what it is.

If he signs with CHC that will be a massive punch to the dick. I dont think he likes cold weather tho and I don't believe the Cubs will be able to outbid the Dodgers.

Yeah I don't believe we are getting garbage offers right now. Rosenthal is reliable. If there's a dozen teams in the hunt and LAD is "most aggressive" there's no way we are getting garbage offers. I believe LAD has likely offered Busch plus a pitcher of our choice in the Top 100. I have a strong feeling that's already on the table. I think Chicago might be a bit squeamish cause even with a savage bat he's likely to end up at 1B and each of the pitchers have issues and they don't want to pick the wrong one. I think if LAD also throws in Pages it will be tough to resist, unless BAL gets serious. IMO, if BAL offers Cowser/Hjerstad, Norby and Hall, this will be a winning offer even if LAD throws in Pages. But there's no way we are going to accept just one Top 100+. That's garbage.

Well Rosenthal etc have said they are going to get a massive haul, and if ARZ wants to have a real shot to win the bidding that's what it will prolly take. It will take BOTH Pfaadt and Lawler to just have a shot to win since LAD could conceivably offer 3 Top 100s and if BAL gets its head out of its ass they could easily win this bidding if they are willing to stop prospect hugging. If Arizona is serious they have to put all their chips into the middle.
