  1. I think I'm gonna celebrate with a pizza and a Hacker-Pschorr. What can I say, I'm a traditionalist....
  2. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 5, 2006 -> 10:15 AM) what exactly is the injury?? Calf? ankle? achilles? Calf, from what I've read.
  3. I never called him that. I called him "Joe-for-4 with two strikeouts". I wish him well with the Marlins, but I don't miss him at all.
  4. QUOTE(Tannerfan @ May 2, 2006 -> 03:33 PM) They live in Cleveland. haha, that's what I told my buddy at work. They're pissed at him cuz he got out and they can't.
  5. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ May 2, 2006 -> 12:18 AM) Bye bye detroit, you won as many playoff series as we did this year Yeah, that is embarrassing, since the Hawks weren't even trying to win.
  6. QUOTE(rangercal @ May 1, 2006 -> 09:29 PM) Yeah, I better not go to the game that night. Dont want to do something stupid to my fellow "white sox fans". Never said it was stupid, just said I believe it's wrong. You can do whatever you want, obviously - I just don't think he deserves to be booed. If you think he does, that's your choice, and you're entitled to it. What's done is done, and I just prefer to remember the things he did on the baseball field, instead of some unfortunate things he said off of it.
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 1, 2006 -> 07:50 PM) Frank Thomas will more than likely earn the Maggs treatment, 50/50 boos and cheers. He may receive it, but he hasn't earned it. Oversensitive or not, Frank Thomas was the greatest offensive force in White Sox history, and if people boo that, I just think they're wrong.
  8. I hope Sox fans see how bad this looks and pay respect to Frank on May 22nd.
  9. An unfair post, in my opinion. Only Chandler knows the level of pain he was in. Not every injury is the same for every person.
  10. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ May 1, 2006 -> 12:11 PM) Hawks Red jersey is the best in sports. Detroit's is cool, but it's no Hawks Red. I always liked the Hawks home white better, because as a kid I never saw it (no home games televised, ya know), so it gained a sort of "mystical quality" to me. But the Wings' home white is still better. Yeah, it is. Is TOO. Uh-HUH. WAY.
  11. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ May 1, 2006 -> 10:29 AM) How the hell did you turn into a Wings fan then? I'd think anyone who was a Hawks fan for a long time would never, ever be a Wings fan, regardless of level of sucktitude and Wirtz. It's like a sox fan turning into a cubs fan, perhaps worse... I enjoyed watching them on Saturdays as a kid, long before I knew of any rivalry. My dad wasn't too much of a hockey fan, so no one brainwashed me into hating the Red Wings. I used to watch Mickey Redmond on the breakaway competition they had between periods on the NBC broadcasts back then. Plus, I have always LOVED their home uniform - to me, that's the best jersey in hockey, and one of the best in sports.
  12. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 1, 2006 -> 08:13 AM) Haha, yeah Edmonton has got to win game 6 at home though, no way they win at "The Joe" in game 7. I just am supposed to hate the Wings since i'm a Hawks fan, even though you guys are obviously in a different class than us. Btw, these hockey playoffs have been great. Regardless of the score, the games are just so much more exciting with a lot more scoring chances. I watched game 5 of Flames/Ducks from Calgary on DVR in the morning yesterday after watching the Sox Saturday night.....very enjoyable to watch. I was a HUGE Hawks fan growing up, and I'm a former season-ticket holder at the Stadium. I want them to do well, and I hope for them to do well, I just don't ever expect them to while Worst is their owner.
  13. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 1, 2006 -> 06:40 AM) He uses those bouncin titties like Homer does to hit a ball. Bouncin titties are VITAL to his swing. How dare you knock those bouncin titties HEY, don't get me wrong - I have a REAL appreciation for the bouncin' titties!! Bouncin' titties hold a VITAL role in our society, and have played a major role in some of the best moments of my life!!! ....I just don't really want to see them on MALE athletes....

Not to mention that May's going to be a tough month for the Sox. Tougher series include the Indians, Angels, Twins, Cubs, A's, Jays and Injuns again. The only "softer" series I see would be the Mariners, Royals and Rays. The Sox should do fine, but that schedule doesn't seem to lend itself to a record-setting W-L record.
  15. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ May 1, 2006 -> 12:38 AM) Any player, I tend to like youth Ill take Fielder or Ryan Howard in a heartbeat but if any player than it has to be Albert Pujols. I wouldn't take Fielder for the sole reason that I can see him ballooning to gigantic proportions in no time. He's gonna make late-era Tony Gwynn look like an anorexic dwarf. Dude's gonna eat himself outta the game if he ain't careful. He's already got the bouncin' titties when he runs.
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 11:43 PM) At least Kruk made the correct choice. Seriously, what do you have to have in your system not to say Pujols? A large dose of f***tardery? Paperboy is a fine closer, but how anyone would pass on Albert is beyond me.
  17. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 10:56 PM) Go Oilers, not only would it be great to see the #8 seed win, but it would knock out the Red Wings in the process. Being a Wings fan, I obviously am not rooting for an Oilers win, but as I mentioned during game 1 of this series, the Oilers seem so much faster than the Red Wings. I know it's because half the Wings' roster is over 50, but I won't be surprised at all if Edmonton knocks them out.
  18. Unfortunately, the Rally Monkey is the smartest Angels fan in existence.

The guys on "Talking Baseball" were saying that the Sox were almost boring, the way they are expected to win and are still winning and meeting the expectations. I couldn't agree less.............there is NOTHING boring about it. Now if those Tiggers and Injuns would just fade away a little bit.....
  20. QUOTE(bmags @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 10:33 PM) ... ... ... ... LIVIN LA VIDA LOCA Don't be jealous..............hater..............
  21. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 07:37 PM) I went and saw Kevin K. last night. Friggin' great show, though only 6 songs were played. The man is an icon to many of us. Plus he is a great guy. Six songs??? What were they, Blues Traveler-style extended "jam sessions"??? ....I spent Saturday evening getting my daughter's Barbie tent ready for her "living room camping sleepover" (cute as hell, that was), then watching the Sox game and the best of SNL TV Funhouse (very funny cartoons, they were).
  22. Crap. Garland is back to having "that one inning", huh?
  23. The wife works weekends and I'm with the kid, so the only "indoor activities" I'm taking part in are playing board games and doing laundry. Please TRY not to be jealous of my WILD life....
  24. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 10:32 AM) Man, it's been s***ty out by me since like 9 PM last night. Chilly, grey, windy and rain, yuk. Great day for a 2pm west coast Sox game. Yep, s***ty in the SW burbs too. Gotta work tonight, so my day shapes up like this: Take a nap after getting the clothes out of the dryer. Watch the Sox and Angels. Have a light dinner. Go to work. So it's not so bad that it's gloomy out - this is GOOD sleepin' weather.
  25. I was always partial to "Out Ta Get Me". Sometimes it's easy to forget where you're goin' Sometimes it's harder to leave And everytime you think you know just what you're doin' That's when your troubles exceed They push me in a corner Just to get me to fight but They won't touch me They preach and yell And fight all night You can't tell me I lose my head I close my eyes They won't touch me 'Cause I got somethin' I been buildin' up inside I'm already gone They're out to get me They won't catch me I'm innocent So you can Suck me Take that one to heart
