  1. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 11:58 AM) I think the name is pretty kick ass. It takes me back to the days of the Big Dick Daley mayoral reign..... now THAT was a Machine!!!!

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 12:16 PM) Nah, they tried taking it away for a few months there, but I've redeemed myself enough to regain my title of "Noted Glam Scholar" again. It's a VERY nice Glam Card, by the way - all silver with glitter, and every name on it mis-spelled.
  3. I kinda like watching lacrosse when I see it on ESPN14, but I don't think I'd ever pay a dollar to watch it in person.
  4. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 11:31 AM) You know what they say about opinions .... Yeah, mine is always right.
  5. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 12:03 PM) Anyone seeing The Stones on this leg of the tour? Jim D says stay home. http://www.suntimes.com/output/entertainme...r-stones25.html Yeah, I read that. He comes off as elitist, I thought. If I'm paying 450 bucks to see a band ( which I NEVER EVER would, by the way ), I want to hear ONLY the songs I like. I doubt very much that anyone in that crowd except him wanted the Stones to go off on a sloppy bluesy obscure riff-romp. They wanted to hear the songs that made them like the Stones enough to pay FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY f***ing dollars to see them. Jim D says to stay home for most acts. And the ones he suggests going to see like the Flaming Pile Of s***.....oops, sorry, the Flaming Lips.....I'd never go to see in the first place.
  6. I see someone got her weekly N.O.W. newsletter......

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 10:31 AM) I missed last night. I was at Disney On Ice. Such an odd life I lead nowdays. American Idol and friggin' Disney On Ice. Keep it up, and you're gonna get your Glam Card revoked!!!
  8. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 11:27 AM) Sean Penn sucks. The fat brother is always better. That's what I keep telling my family!!!
  9. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 11:55 AM) Sean Penn is the most talented actor in his age group. I don't disagree, but I'd like to see him make a movie without doing that "pickle face" thing of his. If he and Renee Zellweger made a movie together, their faces would implode from the centrifugal force of being near each other.
  10. The main thing I'm concerned about with Anderson replacing Rowand is how he adjusts to playing every day. He didn't hit all that well after being called up. He had the two-bomb game, but didn't seem to do all that much else. The Sox adding Thome definitely eases some of the pressure on Anderson to hit right away, but the Sox offense still is not potent enough to carry an easy out in the 9 hole. The Sox brass have faith in him, so I will too.....until I see reason not to.....

  12. QUOTE(Harry&JimmyRocked @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 01:22 AM) which one is "Black Hammer" and which one is "White Lightning" "That limp is the best acting you've done all year!"
  13. Wow, that's sad. I remember Carlos with the Sox. RIP Carlos.
  14. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jan 24, 2006 -> 01:29 PM) How do you think people in New York feel? Rangers/Islanders, Yankees/Mets, and the Giants/Jets. oh, I know it's everywhere. Dodgers/Giants, Giants/A's to some extent. People are stupid everywhere.
  15. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 24, 2006 -> 12:57 PM) I would put that second to the left hand side exits on 290. As dumb as those left-handed exits are, at least no one argues that they're NOT stupid, so the Cub/Sox "debate" is still the dumbest thing in Chicago.
  16. I had six goals and three assists one time in my men's recreational floor hockey league. I OWNED that halfass f***in' goalie. He was my little PUNK to slap around as I felt necessary! Why the f*** ain't THAT game listed???? ....can't get no muthafukkin RESPECT....
  17. Honestly, this Cub/Sox s*** is maybe the dumbest thing about this city. People take it way the f*** too seriously.
  18. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=2304087 Too bad, but time waits for no man. I liked Mario, he's been through a lot but kept fighting.

  20. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 02:09 PM) With hindsite I am ashamed of the green lettering. Probably a throwback to my youth when following Genesis was deffinetly not cool. Growing up we had two choices; either you were into Def Leppard, AC/DC, Deep Purple etc or you prefered Stiff Little Fingers, Sex Pistols, The Undertones or The Clash. Although I listened to SLF, The Clash, Deep Purple et all my heart has always been with Genesis. Much to the chagrin of my peers. BTW I still believe the Sex Pistols to be a case of Hype over Substance. The Pistols were definitely hype, but I still enjoy listening to that album today (although I now have it on CD). Basic music to be sure, but still catchy to my ears. Plus, I always thought Steve Jones had a very cool style onstage, even when he was VERY overweight on the last reunion tour. Genesis, I've never enjoyed - just not my style of music at all.
  21. QUOTE(soxhawks @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 06:19 PM) http://adweek.blogs.com/photos/uncategorized/soxlogo.jpg i vote for this one, it is over all just a solid picture and if it can stay healthy i think it has a very good shot and that spells it out in good old black and white right there.
  22. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 08:55 PM) I have an extra weekend pass but nobody seems to like the price I'm asking for it... ....damn scalpers....

Took the daughter to see Hoodwinked over the weekend. Nice little movie, nothing special but good enough. I thought the way they did it may have confused some kids, with different characters telling their versions of the same story, but my little one liked it.
  24. Rose was retired as a player before any wrongdoing was alleged or proven. He got more hits than anyone who ever played the game in the major leagues. He deserves to be banned for life for what he did after his playing days, and he deserves to be in the Hall Of Fame for what he did during his playing days.
  25. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 05:54 PM) I guess it depends on how you define "best". If by best you mean albums that millions of people would buy, then this list is pretty damn good. If you mean best by something that only hundreds, even thousands of people would buy, then this isn't a great list. What I find silly is the notion that as soon as millions of people like it, it must suck. I'm not saying it MUST, I'm saying it usually does. Look at the Top 40 at almost any time in history. Starland Vocal Band = Grammy for Best New Artist. 'Nuff Said.
