If Walker was signed to play 1B and Konerko was dealt to obtain a good leadoff hitter ( preferably a 2B, don't ask me who cuz I'm not a MLB Insider ), then I'm okay with it. I like his bat, but I want a leadoff guy at either 2B or SS. Those are the only places you could place a leadoff guy on the Sox, I think, unless they made the Kendall deal.

That's why I always referred to them as the Elbows. FWIW, I don't think there is a good political-themed name that would work for Washington. To me, the only good Washington sports name was the Bullets, and we all know that here in the "New 1950's" that name would never work. The Capitals isn't THAT bad, though, now that I think about it...kinda forgot about hockey, like the rest of the sports world has....

I dunno, I think a little sniff of success could turn this sideways-hat-wearin' version of the Tribe into quite an obnoxious bunch. I'm imagining 25 David Terrells....or 1/2 of last year's Red Sox....

See, I disagree. I watch a fair amount of Cubs games ( my wife's a huge Cub fan and I was a big Stone fan ) and he seems to be MORE effective when his slider's working. When he panics he throws a straight flat fastball and that seems to be when he gets in trouble. It's just when the fastball's missing that he loses his composure and then nothing works for him. I don't know if he's "fixable" on a consistent basis. I think he's always gonna be a "hot-and-cold" kind of guy, not reliable at all. Plus he's retarded. And that doesn't help.

I honestly can't believe how boring he's become. I used to be such a big fan of his - I even have a copy of that awful "Butt Bongo Fiesta" video, someone please make me an offer for it - and now I honestly can't listen to more than 5 minutes of his show. Either I listen to Mike & Mike or CDs.

That's a franchise they should move.....again.... Those "fans" don't deserve that organization. They lose quality guys ALL THE TIME and yet stay competitive every year. I know some would draw a parallel to the White Sox in that regard ( replace Cubs with Giants for media/fan competition ), but seriously, if the Sox were as consistently good as the A's have been, the attendence at USCF would absolutely be better than it is in Oakland, without a doubt. Can't you "come back" twice? If you suffer two serious injuries that put you down, or come back once from ineffectiveness and once from injury, is there a rule or something that you can't win it twice? Or are you saying that you don't think they'd give it to someone twice? ...and YES, I actually did forget that he won it once....

I know - this flip-floppy "now-it's-warm, now-it's-cold, here's-some-rain" weather has kicked my ass lately.

His lawyers apparently did their job, which is not really to "prove innocence", but rather to place doubt in the jurors' minds.
