Im sorry that youve had your expectations recalibrate by being a historically inept franchise, but understand it is the lack of expectations that is making this so much fun. Not the fact that this is some great team. Or even good. You can be fun and not great. Thats why throwing away years and years of trying to compete was such a disaster.

I don't think he's all the way back yet, and he doesn't really have a dominant pitch yet, but he has 4 pitches that could all be plus. Very interesting.

I liked Mead coming into the year, thought it made sense to give him a shot. Insane to keep benetendi over him. Mead is young and under control and his power had been zapped by an injury that historically takes quite a bit of time to come back from.

It's great to be on the positive side of outcomes (luck) for first time in a while.

Didn't really say anything about luck beyond citing BABIP and wasnt discrediting the performance. Twins also have the lowest team xBA in baseball.

Another day and game of Davis Martin making me look like an idiot. Gotta love it.

No, but he did look like he has some future in the league which would be a small win. Fastball velocity was solid, but shape and command were not very good. He threw a lot of non-competitive pitches out of 61, and the Twins helped him out by being aggressive. Didn't have too many swinging strikes, and his zone contact rate was really high (meaning he wasn't really fooling anyone with strikes). His out of zone contact rate was also really high (would be top 5 in baseball), so in general he was pretty hittable but ran a .000 BABIP. Honestly, kind of similar to this years version of Sean Burke with less swing and miss through one start.

What about it worked exactly? The Sox proceeded to get multiple additional people on base after the bunt. Seems like giving that pitcher a free out was a bad idea.

Bunting in the 2nd inning with the first two guys on base is absolutely insane.

I blame fathom first and then my kids.. especially after the long three day weekend. Back to my original point that play was right in front of him and he should have broken for second and forced the throw.
