Crazy thing is the pitching still stinks and have been pitching above their level and they still can't string some wins together. Bannister looking for back to back years having the staff perform a good bit better than skill level but talent is so bad it doesn't matter.

I think he's still the top choice, but baseball is the one sport where it's possible so that's why it concerns scouts. The intriguing thing with Lackey for me is how much better he's gotten since high school, each year.

Well, lackey is showing you right now since his stats are quite a bit better and he doesn't get to feast off the big 10. Can't understate enough how little his in conference production matters. And nothing ridiculous about it. Any signs that you've peaked as a player can be very concerning for a scout. You want to see parts of the game take a step forward which has not happened.

Which goes against him, not for him. Baseball is about growth and development. Lackey is out producing him and in a tougher conference. Still a lot of baseball to go though.

Interesting, in some baseball circles it's 25/75 Lackey/Roch with Lackey inching closer. Lebron hit tool not getting better in conference play was a damper. Here was Keith Law's recent comments too as some support for the above: "Lackey was a prospect coming into the year, but he has exploded at the plate and is now generating 1-1 comments from national scouts. Just to set the record straight, collisions happen due to poor communication and a lack of familiarity and positional awareness. Not because of hustle, in my opinion.

This is nonsense. There are multiple front offices throughout baseball succeeding on very small budgets.

They never had an outfield to begin with, let alone depth at the position. I think Schultz would be a stud today, but this team set the MLB record for losses with Garret Crochet. Schultz and Antonacci aren't saving this crew and I like both players. They'll be more interesting with Teel, Antonacci and Schultz but I think we're still talking about the worst team in the AL possibly. They're also an injury away from complete disaster too. I'll say this, Burke's been improved BUT it's almost entirely tied to two things: throwing first pitch strike much more frequently, and getting batters to chase with more frequency. How sustainable is that? Well, I think both are but whether or not Burke maintains it is TBD. Fedde I also won't hate on the offense too much nor give too much credit to the pitching the past series+ because it's really hard to hit when its really cold. Fedde and Kay are bad regardless of how they started.

The White Sox are hitting 209 as a team. Why would they be expected to hit 267 with RISP? Last year they hit 232 for the year.

Because only cheap organizations that are penny pinching manipulate service time with a guy like him. Good organizations, which this wants to become, play their best guys and don't mess with development because of service time games.
