  1. How do you infer that the current players didn't have nice things to say based on this article alone?
  2. I think, for the most part, fans overrate the developmental piece of an organization and underrate the personal and family support piece. These are jobs. Teams who offer great perks with food, famil and personal accommodations and travel while also investing in winning will always come out on top. You can't make a "career" with the White Sox without sacrificing pay and other things. Rays win and provide amazing development opportunities but they cheap out on accommodation and salary so they're always here.
  3. Kenny loftin had a career 372 OBP John, and he had multiple years over 400. That's why he led off.
  4. I need to see a lot more at bats against lefties before I say Sam can't hit them. He didnt look over matched vs skubal.
  5. Welcome aboard, it's as fun as it gets on this wagon! I'm convinced this is the worst we'll ever see from him too. Never stops getting better.
  6. When was Manny Machado an elite Shortstop who was moved? He didn't play a single game at shortstop in the big leagues until 2015.
  7. So put him at third base. Why is this so hard for you to understand? Colson had never played third in his life prior to the Veneable. Ask him, he'll tell you. Acuna is a utility player who has moved all around. This isn't complicated at all. Acuna should play third.
  8. I've posted tons of supporting evidence. Sorry that you've been watching baseball for 100 years and you still don't understand that shortstop is more valuable than third and you want to play the best defender there. Maybe you'll figure it out one day. We're all rooting for you! Colson is the best player on the team. He's also the best defensive player on the team. No one else in baseball history has taken an elite defensive shortstop and moved him around the diamond. No one. In the history of the game. Colson has earned his right to stick at his position. He's having one of the greatest starts to a career in MLB history.
  9. When Sam got to the plate, it was over.
  10. Acuna bad for his entire career but for two weeks. "This guy is turning a corner and Ozzie Smith like on defense." Taylor dominant most of the year but bad for three games; "this guy is terrible and a bum!!"
  11. Acuna was a "capable" shortstop but a plus second baseman. Thanks for reading. Make sure to hit that like and follow button!
  12. You make good points on openers greatly skewing here, but a 5.32 ERA is ridiculous. There are only 3 qualified starters in the MLB with a higher ERA. Competition doesn't mean your staff should be pitching in the bottom 3% of baseball combined.
  13. What says Acuna is a very good shortstop? I asked yesterday but I must have missed your answer in my quest for WE validation. I find it hilarious that you talk about how you want the Sox to win so much but then root for them to lose because Acuna is at short. I want them to do what gives them the best chance to win. Because I want to win. I'm a TRUE FAN. Trademarked.
  14. Lose a game because of something inexplicably dumb, and double down the next time out. Sure love to see that from your manager!
  15. I've been saying since the year started that playing Montgomery at 3rd and someone else at Short would cost the team and was not optimal. Fast forward to a situation where that exact thing happens and you put your head in the sand and claim there was nothing that could be done and everyone is wrong. Weird stuff!!! Edit: And while I have some great bits, this isn't a bit. Colson should play short every day he plays like all other elite Shortstops in baseball history have done.
  16. The fact that you can't admit that Colson makes the play because he's a better Shortstop is incredible. It's your obsession with critiquing anyone who critiques perceived authority. One guy is an elite defender, the other isn't. The point of playing your best players at their best positions is to maximize outs. The Sox not playing their elite SS at SS cost them the win. It's really that simple. In fact, some have been screaming that this would cost them all year. Now it does, and you act like people are playing Monday morning QB.
  17. The Colson one is fascinating because by all intents and purposes, he passes every eye test. In fact, guys like Colson sometimes get graded up because they're ++ athletes and athletes sometimes get the benefit of the doubt in areas other players won't. I've watched Colson for 120+ games now, and he's elite as the word can get. He has huge range, gets to everything, but also has a great first step. His arm is probably only a 40 in strength, but it's an 80 in accuracy and his timing is so impeccable that I'm convinced he probably has more MPH's under there but just never needs to get to them. I'm just happy to see someone write about Colson. He has to be the most underrated first-year player (first 162 games) in my life of watching baseball. He's on a 6.5 WAR pace over his first 160! That ranks Colson as having a top 15 Rookie Season of ALL-TIME. In the HISTORY of baseball!!! He never gets any pub, doesn't even get to play his natural position everyday on his own club. Colson is a Superstar, but the league covers him like a supporting piece and the team treats him like some developing player.
  18. Well, it appears that Veneable also has missed the boat as have the White Sox as an org. Heck there's some fans that refuse to give him his due and think he and Acuna are similar.
  19. Brooks is having a baby? That's pretty big news for science!
  20. Acuna definitely been swinging it better and he obviously isn't as bad as how he started, but literally none of that changes the fact that he shouldn't be playing short with Colson on the field and healthy. Period. And this team disrespects their best player constantly...now the manager is comparing his world class defensive short stop to a league average short stop at best.
  21. Like saying Benetendi and Mune are basically the same hitters. I believe it though based on his dumb ass decision making.
