I'm confused by this. Pitchers have always tried to live on the edges, it's not like they all of a sudden learned the edges are best. Maybe there's more strikes hurting the hitting environment which would be bad, but I don't think pitchers change the way they pitch because of it. The real reason people don't like it is because it eliminates something we can blame and b**** about. We say we want them to get it right, but deep down we all love a good ump controversy.

xwoba stats aren't very meaningful at 30 ab's Guy had the fastest hands I've seen. I've seen hands as fast, but never faster hands. That was his entire game and it covered up for a ton. The second he lost a tick, his career was over. Volatile profile, but a ton of fun to watch. He could start so much later than anyone else.

Dudes been popping out of his hat since he was 20. Just a big noggin. People were slow on him because of his goofy body.

Nothing with Jose profile says roids in my opinion. Nothing upticked, he just got in the cage and learned to turn and burn pitches on the inner half. Love that guys game.

He got to more lift in AAA once he got comfortable at the level (although small sample). He's ticked up the EV (especially max which is what matters here) to the pull side already, which was something we didn't see from J ram until he was in the big leagues for multiple years. So he's already made 75% of the transition. Lift is easier than EV gains. Is it a guarantee? Wouldn't say that, but then I think he hits 40 doubles a year.

Nah, Jose has never hit the ball all that hard relatively and he doesn't have great bat speed, he just learned to turn on balls and maximize pull power on pitches he could. Antonacci has made that same change, he just hasn't perfected lift over liners. He'll get there. Jose always been stocky. In fact it was a knock on him as a prospect for development.

I know this guy who's been saying that for a while now....
