  1. Arraez is a terrible defender. He has no power. His ceiling is very similar to last year. He's a 3 WAR player. Not bad, but Lopez has a much better ceiling. Pablo Lopez broke down a little last year with the inning jump. He's a 4-5 war pitcher (with even higher peaks) over the next 5 years. Twins cleaned up here.
  2. Pablo Lopez is awesome. A much better asset than arraez imo. Not even close. Twins cleaned up.
  3. You guys acting like this isn't still pretty short arm action is crazy to me.
  4. Not sure who this is, but I agree. Pretty much what I was breaking down. This is a good refinement and not a full fledged change. Lucas body is different than it was and it'll continue to evolve. Changes to maintaining balance and a strong base through the ball are always needed. With Lucas he's just much more vocal and open about the work so it goes more noticed.
  5. Tech can work miracles. Lucas lost a little velocity before last year and got some bad body advice, and thought bulking would assist. Flexibility and band training are really what builds and maintains velo. It happens when you have so many trainers and people in your ear. Played with a kid I thought would be a big leaguer. Top tier player in the Midwest at showcases. Went to school and got huge in the weight room. Lost all his Flexibility and fluidity in his swing. Works for some but doesn't work for others in baseball. In regards to the arm action, this isn't some full extension parallel to the ground midpoint. He's still relatively short but he's giving his arm a little more time to not be out in front of his body/legs. This type of change is likely driven by good data and high speed tracking, which to me is way more reliable than work out ideas. I think Lucas has the best year of his career this year.
  6. Yeah. I don't expect or need Lynn to be a cardio monster running steps and being chiseled... but coming in incredibly overweight with very little training at his age and on his knees is just reckless.
  7. You in mid-season form and it's not even February. He's wearing sneakers throwing off a mat lol.
  8. lol this is the type of s%*# cohen and JR could bond over!
  9. I wonder if the concern is more around the fact that they might not be able to get the deal insured because of this history. It's why it might not of held up any deal with the Twins. This isn't a new injury/issue for Correa, so amazed that it's causing this type of hold up.
  10. Which is crazy, since going into that last CBA they were (depending on the metric you used) getting the smallest % of the revenue pie of the major sports. I don't know if that's been changed with the CBA and will need time to determine, but all-in-all, the lack of a cap has led to a perceived collusion by owners to slow salaries more-so than revenue growth. Cohen has thrown a wrench into that concept, but will other owners actually match or try and compete there? I doubt it for most.
  11. no, my "argument" is that you are paying a player's premium price tag while not using a premium skill/value. unlike A-Rod, Correa isn't a top 3-5 hitter in baseball. Him shifting over is going to hurt his value. It's spending money just to spend instead of team building.
  12. I'm acting like the Mets signed a player who derives a lot of value from being the best at his position defensively and they're moving him off that position. Lindor is a good defensive SS, no doubt about that. Correa had the highest wRC+ of all SS's last year, with his defense. Correa would have been 6th or 7th at 3B offensively last year.
  13. So you're saying the Yankees don't win a title if A-Rod is at short and Jeter at 2nd or 3rd? Trying to figure out what you're debating. A-Rod was the best offensive player in baseball arguably. Correa is no where near that.
  14. WHen you've stolen your fortune, it might be easier to lose some of it. Cohen as big of a crook as anyone who has ever worked on Wall Street.
  15. Not sure I'd say it worked. Correa is nowhere near the offensive player a rod was and the Yankees were worse defensively because of it. A lot of Correa's value is tied to the fact that he's the best defensive SS in baseball. Moving him off that position brings down his ceiling big time.
  16. Funny thing is that Mets rotation is far from great, and scherzer and Verlander taking big steps back at their age wouldn't be surprising at all.
  17. Makes no sense that the best defensive ss in the game is moving to 3rd base. That zaps a decent amount of correa value. This Mets team is going to be a disaster imo.
  18. Lowe with chronic back issues last year that never went away. I'm out 100% on acquiring him. His back injury zapped his power and that thing could be here to stay.
  19. Never been a big benetendi guy, but he's certainly an mlb quality regular.
  20. Mad? No. Would I want to give Benetendi a ton of money and years? Also no. I think Benetendi is whatever; nothing to get excited about. That said, he's at least a MLB outfielder which is a big step up for the team.
  21. Outman stinks. Way too many words used on a guy who stinks. He's 26; he's a filler in a deal, not someone you target.
  22. You guys allowed a down season to really slant your views of a video that had nothing odd about it at all: Odds are they found out earlier. Everyone is clapping, no one is mad. The locker room isn't segregated. Jaysus guys. The team was down at that time too and Tim wasn't going to treat an individual achievement as some all-ending celebration.
